On March 21 1962, a two-year-old black bear "Yogi" on a Convair B-58A Hustler became the 1st living creature to be ejected from an aircraft at supersonic speeds. Yogi was ejected at 35,000 feet while the B-58 Hustler was travelling at Mach 1.3. Yogi landed safely 7 mins and 49 secs after ejection.
