Recent college grad struggling to land my first professional job. What would you apply for with my resume?

I’m a recent Sport Management graduate with a minor in Communication, currently based in Alabama and actively looking for my first full-time professional opportunity. I’m open to relocating to any state for the right job. My experience includes event operations, athletics communications, administrative support, hospitality, customer service, and leadership. Events are my biggest interest, but I’m not limiting myself to one career path.

I’ve attached my resume because I’d really like an outside perspective: If this were your resume, what jobs or industries would you realistically be applying to? I’m open to honest feedback, job titles I may be overlooking, and actual job leads if you know of companies hiring. I’m ready to get my foot in the door, gain professional experience, and grow.

Locals: What belongs on a French Quarter scavenger hunt?

My friends and I are planning a 24-hour trip to New Orleans, and after brunch we want to spend about 30 minutes exploring the French Quarter. We thought a scavenger hunt would be a fun way to do it, but none of us really know our way around.

We’d love ideas for fun, unique, or hidden things to add! So far we have:

Go inside the Royal Sonesta New Orleans and buy one of the mini art prints.

Step into a luxury hotel lobby and take your best “rich auntie” photo.

Find a piece of jazz-related artwork.

Take a selfie with a street performer.

We’re looking for things that might make us pop into cool hotels, galleries, shops, courtyards, bars, etc. basically the kind of things tourists might otherwise walk right past.

Also: We’re currently planning to do brunch at Traffik Kitchen and Cocktails because it’s the only place I’ve found with bottomless mimosas AND hookah. If anyone knows of another brunch spot with that same combo (or one that’s even better), I’d love recommendations! I’ve found plenty of bottomless brunches, but the hookah part seems to be the challenge.

I Can’t Tell If It’s My Resume or the Job Market Anymore!!!

I’m having the hardest time finding a job right now!!!

Aside from all the rejections, the one interview I did get told me I was an amazing candidate, but they felt an Administrative Assistant position was too low for me and that I should be applying for higher level roles elsewhere.

While I appreciated hearing that, it didn’t really help my situation because I still need a job. I live in a small town with a population of around 8,000 people, so I understand opportunities can be limited locally. The problem is that even when I apply to jobs in larger cities, I either get rejected or never hear back at all.

I recently graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, and what’s been especially frustrating is being passed over for positions that don’t even require a bachelor’s degree. At this point, I’m open to Administrative Assistant positions or really any business related field. I’m just trying to get my foot in the door and start building my career.

What am I doing wrong? Is it my resume? The jobs I’m applying for? The market?

I’m open to any advice, resume critiques, job search tips, networking suggestions, referrals, interview tips, literally anything that might help because I’m starting to get discouraged.
