What storyline started good but got ruined later?

For me, the Heretics storyline had so much potential at first. The idea of vampire-witches returning with Lily sounded genuinely creepy and different from previous villains, especially because they had history with Stefan and Damon. But later it started feeling rushed and messy, and most of the Heretics barely got enough development to feel important. It could’ve been one of the darkest and most emotional storylines in the show but it ended up feeling kind of wasted.

I miss my chaotic lesbian vampires 😭

Nora and Mary Louise were actually so overhated for no reason 😭 like yes they were messy and dramatic but that’s literally what made them entertaining to watch. They spent over a century together and still chose each other every single time no matter what happened. You could tell how deeply obsessed and devoted they were to one another and honestly a lot of couples on the show didn’t even have that kind of chemistry or loyalty.

I’ll always be annoyed at how little screentime and development they got because there was genuinely so much potential there. People excuse way worse things when it comes to fan favorite characters but suddenly Nora and Mary Louise were “too much.” They deserved better writing, more backstory and way more appreciation from the fandom.
