Insurance for personal property in full time DIY build advice please

Hi,

I just switched to progressive because they are easy on full time rv use. Everything is good except the personal property coverage. They call it replacement value, but only cover 25% of the replacement value of the lost property.

Does anyone have a lead on something better?

Thanks

Mini electric hot water dispenser for coffee and tea?

Hi,
I’m tired of cheap kettles that only last a few months. And, im tired of having to get them out and put them away every day.
Has anyone found an electric hot water dispenser that runs on 120v at 3-4000 watts?
I know the flow rate would be low, but it would still be faster than breaking out the kettle.
I have a little space under the sink and think I can live with 205f water.

Audio options. What are you doing for a little music?

I have a Bluetooth speaker, but it gets glitchy when I use my inverter and stove. And refrigerator.
Something about electromagnetic interference. Lots of advice to unpair/ repair, reinstall… turn it off and on again. None of that works.
Maybe a better speaker would work, its JBL flip 5.
I was thinking that a wifi soundbar with small subwoofer would fit the bill, but haven’t tried.
Id like to control spotify with my phone.

Has anyone made their own adapter plates for the roof mounting up a fan?

Hi,
I screwed up, there is no way I will fit my 200 W panels on the roof with both an air conditioner and a fan unless I put the air conditioner and fan side-by-side.
I will probably put them in bay 3. But, DIY van might not be able to get me an adapter plate to do this in time. I have only one more weekend left to work on this before a camping trip.
Has anyone had any luck making their own adapter plate without a 3-D printer?
Thanks.

Street parking reality? How hard are they looking for inhabited vans? How often are they broken into?

hi,

i was about to pull the trigger on a van build for my wife and i to road trip in. But, I keep seeing news of rules prohibiting staying overnight anywhere except campgrounds, blm and rest stops.

Meanwhile, there are two rvs living full time on the street where i work in Berkeley ca. They have been there for years.

Also, i see posts of people trying very hard not to get broken into. Is this fear or a common problem?

My build would be as stealthy as possible for a highroof van with solar panels.

What has your experience been?
