quiet waters

quiet waters is a print by ‘Knopfmaedchen’ on both Etsy & insta. This frame & mat was found. I love the color of the blue frame. But how do you feel about a cream mat with stark white print background?

These were my favorite frames from Sicily; a collection from cities of Ortigia, Trapani, and Palermo.

some favorites from the eternal city [olympus mjuiii, 35mm , Kodak gold]

new to film, still working on composition & discerning subjects.

First time to Italy, very hard to be discerning.. it’s all so beautiful. But captivating results take practice & patience. Excited to improve!

fire off regents rd

not exactly sure how it started but we saw smoke from the window in the valley behind Gershwin park & called it in. The video shows the second water drop that the helicopter made. The fire is practically out now but traffic isn’t letting up as the fire brigade is still on the scene

Scuola del Cuoio Firenze

May I present to you all a micro tour of the shop at highly regarded leather school in Florence (Italy); the Scuola del Cuoio Firenze.

My family and I showed ourselves around the shop but you can book a tour for a deeper look at the craftsmanship. Something I’ll do when I return.

But overwhelmed was an understatement! There were so many beautiful pieces! They had some vintage pieces on display which I adored!

The shop was immaculate, all possibilities on display. The SA’s were super professional; they let you shop, while being available for questions.

There were so many options and styles, colors, patterns oh my! The bags were my favorite, though the offerings were endless! There were bags, wallets, belts, jackets, display boxes.

Unfortunately ya girl played it safe and only purchased a wallet. But I do really love it. It’s this dark, rich green— among the color of their signature store bag. I wanted a mini bucket bag, what you may see pictured in blush and I should’ve went for it. It was around 300€ but I got in my head about it. Did I need another bucket bag? (FROM THEM YES)

Another bag I loved was the alligator clutch coming in at 4k€. Not that the 4k€ bag was an option, just appreciated the craftsmanship A LOT.

The price ranges from ~50€ with small leather home & office goods to luggage topping at around €23k.
Women’s bags ranged from €230-€14k so I think there is something for everyone. I should’ve done more online research before going so I could have come to a decision on a bag. Honestly I should’ve just went feral & got a couple things.

I’ll be returning and I’ll buy with my heart and less with my head. And if you have a chance to visit the school and shop, I’d advise you do the same.

Thx for lookin!

day tripping in italy

the Clare V grande Fanny in toffee was my choice of bag to bring to italy this late spring. This was the perfect bag for both day and nights during my time in italy. Slung over like a crossbody during the day, it felt like a chic way to carry my essentials. Worn on my shoulder at night, the bag still maintained decent shape, despite its usual flexibility.

The size is perfect and fit everything without being too bulky. My phone also fit! But things started to get bulky if i added a power bank or picked up small souvenirs.

I chose this bag specifically as it only features one zipper to access. If i wish to wear the bag with the zipper facing chest or back, it feels more secure to potential pickpockets. (though in my experience there, i hadn’t felt like my safety was being challenged)

4x4 in. red metal sheffield home frame
2x2 in. brass frame on Etsy

The frame had a classic american diner feel to it so it felt like a marriage to a classic soda

The little olive was a freebie — and there aren’t many options for frames that fit in the palm of your hand but I think this one suits it. Thanks for lookin! 👀
