After your surgery

I'm going for my LAP surgery on Thursday morning. What was your recovery after that? Needing some insight to know how long I have to be off work and whatnot. Please let me know. Thanks.

How long do write-ups last?

Considering the HR guy threatened my job, I posted a couple weeks ago about it. He also told the DM to write me up on a final. How long do write-ups stay on you?

Integrity Matters is a joke!

Don't call them or submit a complaint, because then the HR manager will threaten to fire you if you submit another one. All these people are ok with the status quo. The status quo doesn't get things done, and the people who are supposed to help, refuse.

Bonuses?

Curious, if you had inventory a month ago, and earned a bonus, when do you get the bonus money? How long does that take? I'm only asking because SM said she was going to share the bonus, because I and a few others worked our asses off to get ready for inventory.

Merch Manager job duties

So I know what my job duties entail, but the same SM I made a post about yesterday, tried telling me today that it is MY job as Merch to take out the trash. I said "it's not only my job to take out the trash." She said yes it is, it's in your job. I go, "the closing ASM and another one never takes out trash, so if we're working as a team, trash shouldn't solely be on me." She said "well you didn't take trash out yesterday." I said yes I did, the other sticker left early, I took out as much as I could, the dumpster was full, by myself! She shut up and walked off. If you would simply do your job and stock your areas of the store and tell me exactly how to go about getting an extra pickup, then we wouldn't be so bad off. Unfortunately, she doesn't wanna tell me that, but accuse me of not doing something, when I did in fact do it, and there is proof of that! She missed Monday, she didn't hardly stock anything last week, due to being at other stores, she spent 2 days in one department, and proceeds to bitch at me? I'm working over half of that store, constantly having to stop what I'm doing to "help" her. Simply what is the job description of the Merch Manager? Can someone post it? Is trash for the entire store our SOLE responsibility?

What do you guys think?

I think my SM should be fired....

Honestly, my SM needs to be fired. She actually admitted that she doesn't mind running the register because I throw freight faster than her anyway. I was on vacation last week, and have almost got all my regular departments caught up, and now she has added more to my plate. Meaning now I have 17 departments + vendors (coolers) or 7 aisles + vendors (coolers). I get 40 hours a week, and there is just not enough time for me to do over half the store by myself, and she regularly tries to tell me I need to work HBC as well (cuz the stockers we have are slow as hell and won't step it up), so the pallet is out of control. But the SM won't even work her areas of the store (seasonal, DT+, Party, Chemicals). She took 2 days to do chemicals. Her DT+ and seasonal and party is also taking over the backroom, along with HBC, and I just do not have enough time to get it all done. What do all your SM's expect you to do as MM? Cuz at this point, I should be the SM making that paycheck, for everything I do in and for that store. No one else besides me (and 1 other co-worker) takes out the trash, (I had to do it today by myself), the closing manager doesn't do half of her job, and then complains cuz it was Soo busy and she just couldn't get to it. Like I know the bitch is fucking lying. I've closed this store multiple times, I get damages, recovery, cleaning bathroom, trash taken out, and all the other things that need to be done, done. Why can't she? The SM doesn't do all of it either. I'm just beyond frustrated with DT, my DM, and my SM. It's insane! I'm only one person, o, and I am having surgery next Friday. Like WTAF? Also, I was gone for a week (PTO) and NO one in that store worked my areas. So this week I've been doing two trucks worth of product. The SM has repeatedly told other employees NOT to touch my stuff (when I'm gone) and that I will do it when I get back. I didn't know that the store shouldn't work as a team. I guess everything just falls on my shoulders. Ugh! I'm so over this fucking place!

How many boxes per week?

I am Merch, and have been working my ass off at my store for the last almost 2 years, never get a break or anyone to really help. The SM never works her areas, and she expects me to do my areas (P, E, H, Scents, Craft, Floral, Home Decor, Stationary, Toys, DT+ cleaning supplies). She expects me to also do paper (when she doesn't come in on truck days because she's "sick). This week, I had to work her DT+ aisle plastics and one of her previous loaded chemical uboats (she couldn't get to it the week before), because she hadn't worked it in two weeks and we had no room to get truck in the door. I also did 4 total uboats of HBC and 3+ uboats in plastics, kitchen, Foil, Bags, and glasswares. 540+ cases for the week, which our truck was only 1227 pieces, and I didn't actually count the stuff I worked prior to truck. I also continuously have to stock the front vendor coolers, because the closing manager (and the SM) never remember to fill it, and she proceeds to bitch at me when I am filling it (which increases and helps sales). She hadn't really done anything all week, one uboat of chemicals today. I feel like I'm totally being used! The DM is constantly telling me that I have to prove myself, yet a mother fucker got offered a SM job even though he has made sexual comments, kicked people out of the store for no good reason, and dropped one ladys purse on the ground, not doing his job (when he was at my store), only worked for the company for 5-6 months, etc. I've been working for DT almost 2 years and have been at my current store almost 2 years (I shouldn't say my store, I've been told multiple times that it is in fact NOT my store). I have went above and beyond and taken over way more than anyone else in the building, I get yelled at and criticized, and the DM won't even have a conversation with me, without bitching about something he thinks I should do, on top of everything else I do at that store. Am I wrong to feel completely used and dismissed, berated, told I'm always in the wrong, and continue to put up with it, without anyone recognizing that I pull WAY more than my weight at that store, while the SM does next to nothing? I've been applying other places, but haven't gotten any responses. But I'm to the point where I absolutely HATE the place, just due to all the bullshit I've dealt with, in the almost 2 years working there. What do you all think? O, I was hired in as Merch Manager, and have been Merch Manager for the duration of my time with the company.

Inventory?

Tell me who all NEEDS to be in the building for Inventory... Last year I was told that I HAD to be there, this year the SM is doing everything in her power to keep me out of there. I'm the Merch by the way. So, please tell me, who is actually required to be there for inventory. Thanks in advance!

New on the journey...

So I'm 40 years old, and have been pregnant 6 times with 5 kiddos (my three girls are adults now). They were all born via C-section, I've never had lady issues too bad, until after my youngest, when I had my tubes tied, cut, burned. During the year after he was born, I was having major abdominal pain, which come to find out, is Crohn's Disease, on top of my Asthma/allergies I've had since I was 5 years old. Also during this time, I started having heavy bleeding/somewhat painful cramps. So I had a "endometrial ablation" done (I was told that it's a placental ablation, but whatevs). Anyway, I work for Dollar Tree, and Monday was truck day, about half way into truck I get this awful pain (awful but I worked through it anyway). Boss kept telling me to leave, I refused, to get truck done. Clocked out and went home, laid in bed for about an hour, with the same pain. Ended up in the ER, where they did blood work, urine sample, CT scan, Ultrasound, and shot me up with Dilaudid and Ondestron. Over three hours there total, and at the end of it, "you have an endometrioma, which is an advanced stage of endometriosis. Sent me home with instructions to see a gynecologist. Yesterday, I got ahold of the gynecologist after three tries, my appointment is June 11th, a little over two weeks out, and I'm still having pain which gets worse at night. Basically left out to dry on managing pain, because due to Crohn's, I can't take NSAIDs. In the meantime, I've been trying to learn everything I can about it, combined with pain, I'm ready to just cut myself open and take the shit out. I'm over this already, I don't have time for any of this, kids and everyone else comes before me. What am I supposed to do in the meantime? Can't get a primary care appointment until June 5th. I have to get back to work.

Now I'm no stranger to pain and have a really high pain tolerance, but this crap is for the birds. I mean during the pain, I'm unsure if I need to shit, puke, or just die. It's beyond ridiculous, and everyone is telling me to go back to the ER, which I don't have time for. I know I'm just starting on this journey, which is mind boggling to me. O yea and my WBC and Absolute Neutrophils were high on my blood work, so I know I'm fighting infection, but nothing for that or the pain. I did manage to get ondestron tho. I need to eat, I haven't eaten much in the last almost 3 days. Definitely nothing I would have eaten, but I just don't feel hungry, not entirely sure as to why.

Any insight helps greatly. Didn't think I'd be ignored and dismissed on here. But I've been proven wrong.

Interesting turn of events

Ok, to start off, I have been in communication with the new Regional Manager and Regional HR manager... Our SM does absolutely NOTHING to get her job done, with only seasonal, party, and DT+ to do, she can never get those areas done. We had the P&P thing last week. I've been told as MM, it's NOT my store, so then why did the SM not have to work overnights to see that the work was done for the P&P? Then the floor people came, where things had to be off the floor, and again, the SM scheduled me to do it, not her. I honestly can say I do not like the woman! She has excuses for days as to why she can't get her areas done. I have 12+ areas/departments in the store and I manage to get mine done and then some. Well, last week she got mad because I didn't get one reset done (DM told me not to touch another one) and said it took her 5 hours, which took her away from her stocking. Well, number one, we had talked about that reset, argued about what it said needed to be done, she said she would find out, then she proceeded to be gone 4 days out of 7, so there was no asking her about it. I have done every other reset besides this one, especially if they were in my areas of the store. She never stocks anything, so why blame me when you wouldn't have stocked your areas in the first place? Secondly, I was MOD during that week, and I still managed to get all my stocking done, as well as check in vendors, keep track of the deliveries, and stock all three of the front coolers (no one else will) and left them with no damages to be done, for the next shift. Mad at me over one reset, when I can't get her to do anything that would help the team and the situation in our backroom.. back to the overnights, she didn't work her areas, so I had to make the holes for the P&P people to be able to put up the sticker in the backroom. Then restack it back on the pallet. I had to get the majority of crap off the floor for the floor people to clean the floors, the SM did nothing to help. Now anyway, back to why I originally started this, the P&P people offered me a job. They clearly really like me and I like them too. With everything at DT, I feel I earned a reason to get out of there. Some more insight I didn't mention: store orders are left to me, arranging truck and dealing with the SM keeping uboats we need, because she gives us no choice to deal with it, keeping customers happy when she isn't there, running register and being by far the fastest and most accurate one of all of them, stocking the coolers by the registers, taking on more things (aisles) to make up for her lack of hiring people, and no appreciation. I'm at a loss on why she thinks she can be on her phone almost all day and not work her areas of the store, when I get no help whatsoever! Now, that's not all of it, but I am really thinking about taking the job I was offered, more money, and I like the team they have that I would join. And no more DT bullshit. Give me your opinions on everything please. I've been there almost 2 years, within DT and at that store.
