Had a customer come in today that smelled so bad I could hardly wait on the guy he smelled so bad. Then later in the day a lady came in barefoot no shoes. I was about to wait on her but we were switching out till I’m not a manager but my manager told her and she didn’t put shoes on she just continued walking barefoot. If I had waited on her I was about to tell her no shoes no service I’m I in the wrong in this situation
For some reason my SM cannot order the bags for the life of her and i’m stuck dealing with customers bitching to me about ‘how come you’re out of bags? why are you out of bags? when are you getting bags’ for the love of god WHEN MY SM ORDERS THEM!!! It’s always the customers ranting to the cashiers about how there’s no bags and when you remind them you’re ’just a cashier’ they get all pitiful and backtrack to ‘it’s not your fault you shouldn’t have to deal with this’ like the customer just didn’t verbally abuse me for five minutes about not having bags 😭 you have a single card!! you don’t need a bag!!

I'm so sick of customers bringing their dogs in to DT. I SAY THIS AS AN ABSOLUTE DOG LOVER ANS OWNER OF TWO DOGS I LOVE DOGS ITS NOT THE DOGS FAULT! JUST TO BE CLEAR! 😂
But seriously, "oh my dog is trained" *proceeds to pee all over the floor* and the owner proceeds not to tell anyone and walks away.........🤦🏼♀️

Went from 70 plus hours a paycheck to scheduled 40 in the next two weeks, after a cashier quit and there should be more hours. Feel like I'm being punished for caring too much lol. Been looking for my exit. Any leader experience at other companies/asm people that got jobs in leadership elsewhere that actually gave a shit about you? I undersell myself a lot and even applied to a basic position at Sheetz within the last year. My AI tells me to stop selling myself short and that I'm way over qualified with management experience and probably 20 plus years retail as well as other jobs. I keep debating applying at Aldi's as I hear their goal is to hire future store managers. That's why it's hard to get a call back.
Okay do you all have that one coworker that you love but someone that person can really just get on your nerves?
So for example my other coworker is gone for two weeks and I'm taking over her departments (we'll call her Debbie) and Debbie is very picky with who is in her departments and what is done. Debbie and my managers chose me to take over Party, Candy, DTP L&G, and Seasonal while she's gone.
My coworker (the one that annoys me Lauren I'll call her) came up to me this morning KNOWING I'm taking over Debbie's departments says "I really want to do party today i think I will talk to *freight manager* to do that.
Whoaaaa okay listen 😂 nobody has ever told you that you can choose the departments you can stock it's never "oh I want to do this."
Second, that's my department for the next two weeks and I know that me or Debbie would not trust you to be in party.
I just stayed quite and was like "whatever," originally the white board said I was in seasonal when I first went to work then after she talked to my freight manager I was moved to party.......😂😂😂
She saw that and has the audacity to say "awwww I wanted party, want to switch with me?"

What a scam. Dollar Tree purposely fails to label the price on items that are above $1.25. it's happened again and again and again. I'm so sick of it! It's done on purpose.
So, I had other plans tonight at work, but I decided to seize the chance to get some of the picnic type items out of the back. The juice is a lame tie-in, but the boss insisted - it is a great deal, it's summery, I guess. This is 'old school' grocery mechanics from Albertsons at work for $1.50.
All of it is a good deal. I've tried most of the condiments and things, the size is small, but the price is outstanding. The juice isn't premium juice, but it's "Old Orchard", a trusted label, selling at $1.25. These are impressive bargains in the 2026 economic climate.
I'm going to see what happens with the end cap. My gut feeling is that it will get destroyed by next week. The way they are shipping out food we have to move it quickly.
Me: would you like your receipt?
Customer: Nah
Me: *presses the no print button"
Customer: Wait scratch that. I'll take it!
(and half the time when I call the manager up here to print it out, the customer decides they actually don't need their receipt after all and then leaves 🤷)
Dear whoever makes the rules about the hours given,
My name is Employee . I have worked for Dollar Tree for approximately 3 yrs. I was not blind coming into this job. There was no way I expected Dollar Tree income to be the only income I would need. Let me tell you what I did expect. I expected to be able to count on certain part time hours . I am not working for extra or play money. I expected to be appreciated as a worker ( I am by my store manager but not anyone higher up) I expected when I worked extra hours during inventory and busted my tail that DT would not cut our hours down to nothing as their way of saying thank you . All these expectations come down to treating people like human beings. So far every expectation has been a disappointment . Anyway I thought I would just let you know.

Is it true that if you're the full time ASM that you have to be ready to become store manager like soon or they'll demote you? That happened to me and honestly I'm confused and pissed.
