Not sure if I have any recourse here, but I had a 24hr urine test ordered by my Urologist last month, and it was handled via Litholink, which is a subsidiary of Labcorp. I am in Tampa and have had other Labcorp tests covered in-network.

After receiving a $750 bill for the Litholink service, I contacted BCBS Illinois (my company JCI uses BCBSIL for all states), and was told the service is out-of-network due to the fact the test had to be sent off out of state for processing. This makes little to no sense to me.

I spoke with another BCBS rep after that, and requested a review. About five days later they told me the same thing again, and to possibly contact my Urologist to see if anything could be adjusted. I highly doubt they would be involved at this point.

Would it be worthwhile to file an official appeal on this, or am I probably going to be eating $750? Litholink is the only company I'm aware of that does the at-home 24hr test, so I really didn't have other options to check against.
