PGDL vs LLM

I have just graduated from a non law (politics) BA. I am about to start my PGDL at BPP, however I have started to get cold feet about committing to law so quickly. I have got accommodation in Bristol now, so I have been looking at their LLM programmes which you can apply to as a non law graduate as I thought that might broaden my horizons a little as it would look better on my CV for a non qualified law job if I decide I don’t want to go down that route. They do offer foundational modules with the LLM. I know you can do the SQE without a PGDL but is this going to limit my chances of getting a training contract? And if I do decide I want to be a solicitor is it realistic I’ll end up having to do the conversion after? Money is a problem and I also am worried that im not going to procure funding for SQE/ BPC which I think is a big factor for my cold feet. I would really really appreciate any advice on what to do. Thank you so much guys.

Want to be a barrister- what can I do?

Hi, I’ve just finished my undergrad politics degree at a mid level russel group uni, I have graduated with first class honours. I will be starting my PGDL in September, and I’m hoping to go down the bar route. I am wondering what I should be doing right now to maximise my chances of getting a job that will fund the rest of my studies after the PGDL? I know if I was looking for a solicitor job I should be preparing for my applications when the TC cycle opens- but I feel like it’s less advertised what the bar equivalent is. I have worked as an assistant in a small solicitors firm doing conveyancing for two summers in a row and shadowed a criminal solicitor and barrister for two weeks. I have a 3 day mini-puplilahe in family law lined up in October. I got these all through connections rather than applying. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you :)
