Need clarification on TSA confirmID

So I’ve had my Real ID with my state ID, which I’ve been using for flights, pretty much anything, etc especially since I’m a college student traveling every so often.

But I just got my drivers license and switched over my Real ID status with my state ID to my DL. It’s still a temporary paper one and I know TSA doesn’t allow them for verification and obviously, I won’t get the physical card for a while.

I have my passport but it’s been expired for years now since I never had a reason to use it so I don’t really have a backup.

I leave in about 4 days (8/18) back up to CA from HI for college and I paid the $45 for the confirmID thing.

Anyone have experiences with doing confirmID, especially if you’re flying out of Daniel K. Inouye airport? Do you usually get through security and TSA anyways? Any help would be appreciated, thanks!
