Comfort Tires - Disco 5 2024
Hey everyone,
I have a 2024 Land Rover Discovery with factory air suspension and OEM Pirelli 275/45R21 tires on the stock 21s.
Honestly, I’m disappointed with the ride quality. Houston roads are terrible and this thing feels way harsher than I expected for a luxury SUV. Expansion joints, rough pavement, potholes, etc. all feel pretty rough. Almost too sporty/stiff.
I’m NOT looking for sporty handling at all. I want the smoothest, quietest, most “floating/glass ride” setup possible. Think cloud-like luxury SUV ride.
Current setup:
OEM Pirelli 275/45R21
Factory 21” wheels
Factory air suspension
A few questions:
- What is the absolute comfiest tire you’ve personally used on an SUV?
- Which tire has the softest ride and least road noise?
- Would switching away from the OEM Pirellis make a major difference?
- Is Michelin really that much smoother?
- Should I keep the 21s or go down to 20s for comfort?
Not worried about aggressive handling or sporty feel. Comfort is priority #1.
Would love real-world recommendations before I spend a ton on tires/rims.
