There are only 1,000 Layer 1 Cryptos
Can we stop saying "there are too many coins" and "there are millions of cryptocurrencies"?
There are only 1,000 layer 1 coins. There are millions of layer 2's and tokens. We should be speaking about them that way so the public catches on early and so the space is thought of appropriately.
Layer 2's pump and dump often. They offer almost no value besides speculation or stablecoins.
Layer 1's grow or die with hash.
We should not lump L1's and L2's together as "all cryptocurrency". It makes the space that much more daunting to newcomers, in my opinion. We should rebrand and make clear distinctions from the top positions to the average user in crypto to keep the space accessible and honest.
My whole point is that we should be emphasizing that there are only 1,000 layer 1 coins, whereas retail hears that there are "millions of cryptos" and gets overwhelmed, often choosing to avoid the space altogether, according to my experience talking with many people. Keeping people out seems to be a common thread of Bitcoin maxis that forget, cheaper prices now from keeping adoption halted also means lower ATH because you kept would-be investors on the sidelines. Less money, lower marker cap. It's pretty simple. We should want people to invest. We are about to see a new wave of adoption starting January of 2027 thanks to the Genius Act, and I think we should make a point for search engine results to mention that there are "millions of cryptocurrencies, but only about a thousand layer 1 chains."
HODL!!!
PSA: Most people have forgotten that HODL means "Hold On For Dear Life"... not Hold for 20% gains. Always stack. Stay true gentlemen.
The Genius Act puts crypto in Banks January of 2027... 6 months!
Hard work...
Someone is ready to buy your bags at a discount. They'll leave you sitting on the sidelines while they ride your bag up to 1/4th or 1/3rd of the price of Bitcoin, if you're willing to sell cheap. They won't buy now, but when the bull is on, they're searching for weak hands to capitalize on.
Remember why you bought Litecoin to begin with. Everything is the same- a network that has never gone down, 84 million capped supply, quick transactions that are affordable... and the adoption curve is up and to the right. Don't do all of the hard work of holding through the tough times just to get bought out cheap. The smartest Litecoin investors are doing it for a lifetime investment. Be there when it emerges.
Why 2027 is the year to watch for LTC.
There is talk (and the timing is right) for a new Altcoin Season in late 2026. It should run from October into March of 2027. This could appreciate Litecoin's price closer to the values projected for the proper transaction value of Litecoin. January of 2027 is the beginning of average banks offering to hold cryptocurrency for their customers thanks to The Genius Act. They will be actively buying, selling, and be custodial for 350 million Americans. If this month coincides with Alt Season, we could see retail ape into a bullrun and push it to new highs, as they can easily buy into it at their own bank. Crypto silver would be positioned well as a value coin, and banks will likely be buying in bulk to keep coins on hand to distribute to customers, much like exchanges already do. Stablecoins will become available to spend at grocery stores, gas stations, and everyday merchants at cheaper fees for the store, a big incentive, and will be just as easy as a phone scan at check out. Value coins will be sold to retail as an investment account, and you can bet Litecoin, with a coin cap of only 84 million coins, (no downtime, and transactions that show up in seconds when sending wallet to wallet) will be high on the list of top contenders to hold. A new round of adoption is just around the corner. Don't sell your bags cheap! I'm buying more. And if it drops, thank you for the discount, I'm weighing my future in litesats! I'll buy more! HODL and keep perspective. The path to the 2030's is bright for crypto, and Litecoin specifically.
Mod rules changes?
Can we get a change in posts related to price being allowed? Any chart, even ones where the prices aren't shown on the side, and only a shape or pattern is shown, are taken down. Who exactly wants price posts taken down? I think we should be able to discuss price and post charts. Can we get it amended?
Resolve
The next great leap in adoption occurs in January of 2027, when the Genius Act puts crypto in normal banks. Bitcoin, Litecoin, Sui, Solana, Kaspa... they will be buyable for 230 million Americans in average banks with banks as the custodian. The new adoption curve will jump. Don't forget why you bought Litecoin, only 84 million coins in a world of 8 billion people, and adoption is happening. It's growing everyday.
