UK Intimate Shows Megathread

This is the dedicated megathread for everything related to the upcoming UK Intimate Shows. Any new posts will be removed and redirected here.

Phoebe's doing a run of small record store shows across the UK this week to celebrate Lost Weekend. Use this thread for hype, setlist guesses, and recaps so it doesn't flood the sub. Post-show reviews welcome here too once shows start happening.

Full dates and details from her site: https://phoebebridgers.lnk.to/RecordStoreTourIO

The dates (all sold out)

London, Union Chapel - Monday, August 17 (matinee + evening)

Kingston, Circuit - Wednesday, August 19 (matinee + evening)

Brighton, Chalk - Thursday, August 20 (matinee + evening)

Bristol, Electric - Friday, August 21 (matinee + evening)

Every show across all four venues is sold out.

Each show is expected to run around 45 minutes. London is her first solo headline set in the city since 2022.

Tickets

Please keep all ticket buying, selling, and general ticket chat in the [Lost Weekend Tour Ticket Thread]. Any ticket talk posted in this thread will get removed and redirected there. That is the only place on the sub where ticket sales are permitted.

Tickets are through Dice and tied to the buyer, so a ticket alone doesn't guarantee entry if it wasn't bought through official channels. Be careful buying resale, since venues can turn people away with invalid or duplicated tickets.

Lining up

Each venue has its own rules about what time you're allowed to start queuing, so please check with your specific venue rather than assuming it's the same everywhere.

Phones and recording

These are phone-free shows, same as all the events for this album cycle have been. No phones, smartwatches, smart glasses, cameras, or recording devices allowed inside. You'll get a Yondr pouch at the door to lock your phone in for the show and your phone will stay with you the entire time, and will get unlocked when you leave. This includes laptops - they are not allowed into the venues - this has been confirmed by a venue.

*Be good to each other, we know everyone's excited*

Drop your questions, excitement and plans below. We will continue to update this post as needed.

Phoebe on the Meaning + Writing of Each Song on Lost Weekend (Krui 89.7 FM)

Phoebe did a podcast/recording that's airing on a bunch of college radio stations - introducing each song on the album and talking about some of the writing process/compositions/meanings. I am not in the US (and well past college-aged) but steamed it live online and managed to catch each song's intro for anyone who couldn't tune in. I always love hearing an artist talk about their work, especially when they're really proud of it!

The Outside: "It's about my ability to dissociate and how it once protected me, but it can prevent me from feeling my life when I most want to"

Lost Boys: "Is about this character and it keeps reappearing to me as new people. So this song is about 3 different people who all have a lot in common, whether it be addiction issues or self-sabotage - just this general raw nerve relationship with the world, so they are struggling with this big bad feeling and I struggle with my love for them. So the first verse is about my father, the next is about a relationship, and the last is about probably the most important relationship of my life. I love how joyous it is"

Kill Me: "This is one of my favourite song on the album. I loved working/recording it. We had so much fun with the production. My friend Nick Zinnerplays guitar on the end of it and I spend the whole song waiting to hear it. I'm still figuring out what this song is about - and I say this all in all good fun - I don't really love when my lyrics are poured over as really literal. I think my lyrics are getting less literal as time goes on. So you tell me what this song is about - time passing?"

The Governor's Waltz: "this melody has been around forever, my friend Christian sent me a voice memo of him playing it on piano, I would just listen to it and listen to it, and singing over it never felt right. Weirdly one day I sat down to write and the only way that felt right was writing about my life as a fairytale, not so literally. And it's just these same themes of not feeling present for my life. The really spooky thing is I have a lyric about Shelley Duval, it was the first lyric I wrote for the song, then I went to sleep, woke up and she passed away the next day. Rip Shelley."

Bobby: "I tend to write love songs that are soaked in pain and irony and I really didn't want to do it this time because it didn't feel like that. I wanted to write about the feeling of love at first hookup - just your life being totally turned  upside down by someone in a good way. But there are so many great songs like that, like 'There She Goes' or Marry Me, Archie. That it was hard to commit to adding to that legacy. But at the end of the day I just had to be honest. And these feelings - I feel very lucky to have had them. Thank you Bobby!"

Lost Weekend: "This song is about the past, and it's been pointed out to me that every song is about the past. It's about losing touch with the person who knows me best and just feeling lost which is why it's called that. I was in an altered state one morning - when I recorded this I had just finished writing it and I just thew my phone on the Megatron and recorded it, then I took the song into the studio and nothing felt as real as that first voice memo so we just kept it and recorded over it. There's a piece at the end that's a sample by Paul Lansky at the end which is one of my favourite parts of the record because I've loved that piece for a long time"

Haunted: "I was writing in the woods and was having a hard time as I often do when writing. And I was playing this little bluegrass melody for fun and it was so easy to write to. So I kept writing and writing. And I thought maybe I'd change it, or steal from it later but it didn't happen. I liked it as bluegrass and it only felt right to have my two best friends Julien and Lucy sing on it with me. This song is about feeling a little bit miserable, and going on tour with them and feeling so alive and happy. I love them"

Panorama "It's a song very influenced by my love of ambient music. I love the weird genre between ambient music and songwriter music, like grouper or Florist, and I wanted to represent it on the album. It's about death knocking at your door, and you've been waiting for it, so you let it in."

Still Standing: "This song is about my dad, who I miss very much."

Liberty Tree: "About falling in love in a hopeless place - true story. It's this massive mall in Massachusetts called Liberty Tree Mall which is huge on back rooms, liminal space... Internet people love it. I love it. It puts you in a really weird headspace. And we recorded the band live, I love it. It came together really last minute and I love how it turned out. It's one of my favourites on the album."

Never Going Back!: "It is very self explanatory."

Other Plans: "I wrote it at the very end of making this album. I certainly didn't need any more songs - I had a lot. I wrote it very quickly so it just felt like it had to be included. Someone I love gave me an assignment to write a melody with just one note in it, and then I wrote this song very quickly. I recorded it, just me on the cp80 and it just felt kind of magical. I still don't know what it's about... I have a suspicion. I have a little private meaning but it may change. You tell me what it's about."

Lost Parade: "Kind of self explanatory but it includes a lot of melodic motifs from the album. It also sounds a lot like my old music - so just really takes me to the past."

I Can't Wait: "I am very proud of something on this whole album which is there's no melodyne on my voice. I am not anti melodyne I think melodyne is awesome because if you get a great take or live take but it's distractingly off pitch in certain moments it can really save you and the emotionality if the moment. I wanted this album to be really electronic and I just wanted something to cut against that. What's cool about this is, if you haven't noticed, there's a singer who sings almost as much a me on this album. Her name Caroline shaw - she's incredible. And she really sings like her voice is an instrument. And she does this crazy microtonal thing throughout this track that I love - it's one of my favourite parts of the album. This song, is like a little state of the union, just where I was at, at the time. I like it, I think it's sounds really present."

As Above: "It's about the past, present and future being all on top of eachother; and the weird headspace that being on an aeroplane puts you in... because of time travel. It's a theme of not only the album but my life - being on planes because I'm on them all time. It's like the thing they always say about 'you always cry watching movie on a plane'... I think I was watching Hot Tub Time Machine over someone's shoulder and it got me thinking about my life so..." (She's like, loosing it laughing at this point after the reveal the movie was possibly Hot Tub Time Machine, lol)

Lost Weekend (Reprise): "It used to be called Lost Weekend (Relapse) but I thought that was too sinister... But it is about a return to feeling. The feeling from the first 'Lost Weekend' - maybe with some more resolve and contentment. I don't know if you noticed throughout this whole album, but my dad is dead. So instead of kind of a white hot kind of grief, it's more about thinking about what I loved about him and learned form him. And it felt like a good way to end the album. What's really weird, is I recorded a voice memo like I always do at home. There are dogs barking in the background. One of them is mine, of them is the neighbours - just barking at eachother. And I had this whole idea where - the first lost weekend is all a voice memo so it's pretty lo-fi - so I thought at the end we'd do a hi-fi version, in a church with an organ. And I tried it and it just didn't feel right. It felt way more emotional this first take of the first time I sang it. And we snuck the church organ in the end. And it's just me picking up my phone at the end which is how it goes out."

(Also if anyone wants to correct any spelling or grammar - please note this was typed into my notes app in a hurry to capture it all live... so if you try I'll hang you on a wall /s but only sorta /s)

⏳5 Days Until Lost Weekend | Daily Countdown Thread | Sunday 9th August

Five days left until PB3 officially touches down on Earth. If I had a penny for every album review I've read front to back, and everytime I've played Lost Boys on repeat... I'd have a damn lot of pennies. Safe to say the anticipation for Lost Weekend is very real!

Thanks to everyone who jumped into yesterday's thread with the tracks they are most excited for. Seems like there's a lot of anticipatory love for Bobby and The Governor's Waltz already.

Today's question: If you could have been in the studio watching one of the songs from the upcoming album being recorded and produced, which one would you pick based on what we know so far? (+ why?)

Whether it's the small production details we've heard about, lyrics or themes that have piqued your interest from reviews, a collaboration you'd love to see at work, or just a title that makes you curious how it all came together in the room.

The end (of waiting for PB3) is near (5 days away) 🛸🖤

Lost Weekend Planetarium Experience: Info Hub & FAQ

This thread will serve as a central hub for frequently asked questions and info on the Lost Weekend Planetarium Experience. FAQs below cover the shows, tickets, and locations.

Any new individual posts about the planetarium shows will be removed and redirected here.

Basic event info

Phoebe is previewing Lost Weekend with listening events inside planetariums around the world, running August 10 to 14 in partnership with Spotify. You show up, they lock your phone in a Yondr pouch, and you listen to the full album while a custom visual show plays on the dome.

There are two different visual shows venues are using:

  • A custom dome show designed by night-sky photographer Babak Tafreshi
  • An immersive laser show designed by Laser Fantasy

How do I find my city and get tickets?

Go to planetariumexperience.phoebebridgers.com and click through to [Find Your Tickets]. That's the master list and it links out to each individual venue's own ticketing page. Every planetarium is running its own showtimes and selling its own tickets. There isn't one central ticket link for all of them.

FAQ

How do I know which visual show (Laser Fantasy vs. Babak Tafreshi's night sky dome show) is playing at my event? This varies by event. Many venues provide times for both, separately. Check the individual event page to see which show will be playing at each time.

What is the difference between the two visual shows, which should I attend? Her website states: "Each listening session pairs the album with one of two original visual accompaniments: a custom dome show designed by renowned night-sky photographer Babak Tafreshi, or a unique immersive laser show designed by Laser Fantasy. Both presentations offer their own atmospheric perspective that turns your first listen into a shared sonic and visual experience." This is all the information we have currently about the two different options.

Is this the same thing as the midnight release parties? No, it's a different thing. The midnight listening parties are on August 13 at record stores/venues worldwide, completely separate from the planetarium shows.

How much are tickets? Prices vary a lot by venue, we've seen everything from about $10 up to $35-40 depending on the location (some of that difference is because a couple venues bundle in general museum admission). Check your specific planetarium's page for the individual prices and showtimes.

Is Phoebe actually going to be there? No. The website states directly: "This is not a performance, and Phoebe Bridgers will not be in attendance." It's a listening/visual experience, not a live show, so don't show up expecting her.

Can I record or take pictures? No. It's phone free as with the pop-ups and upcoming tour. They will put your phone/smartwatch into a Yondr pouch when you walk in and you get it unlocked when you leave. Your phone and pouch stay with you the entire event. Please don't try to sneak a phone in, just enjoy it!

My venue is sold out, now what? Check that venue's page directly, some do rush/standby lines or release extra tickets closer to the date, but that's on the venue. We don't have inside info on restocks.

Can I buy or sell my planetarium ticket here? No, not in this thread. Any for sale or ISO posts for planetarium experience tickets belong in the Lost Tour Ticket Sale/Swap Thread. That thread is the ONLY place on this sub permitted to buy/sell any kind of tickets.

Will they add more dates or cities? We don't know. If it happens we'll update this thread. Additional times have been added already for some of the existing cities.

What will I actually hear, is it the full album? Yes, the idea is you get the whole album front to back with the visual show built around it.

Mods will keep updating this as details firm up. Drop questions below, and please search the thread before asking since a lot of this gets asked on repeat.

Estee Lalonde Partnership/Podcast with Novo Nordisk (Ozempic manufacturer)

TLDR; Estee Lalonde paid partnership with Novo Nordisk (Ozempic manufacturer)

I feel like I'm not seeing anyone actually speaking about this. Estee has done a paid partnership with Novo Nordisk (the company who make and sell Ozempic/Wegovy) for a podcast about "people who struggle with obesity or excess weight" - which could be helpful convos to have, if it weren't funded by a company with massive financial and social stakes in the conversation going a certain way. It feels inconsistent having her as the host for this?

Thoughts????

From the See Jurassic Right podcast

Also RIP I should have cropped the start of this video hahaha

u/Ok_Salt8185 — 4 months ago

All credit to u/ vintageiphone for finding this: Maria Taylor (long time collaborator of Conor/Bright Eyes) mentions she recently did some vocal work on new work of Phoebe's - right around the timestamp in the screenshot of the See Jurassic Right podcast (this was recorded seemingly back in March 2026). Seems like the best confirmation we've had of new work, so far!

Edited to add This was the interaction verbatim from the podcast: Interviewer: "You were on some Phoebe Bridgers stuff a couple years ago" MT: "I actually just sang on a few of her new songs!" Interviewer: "Oh, shit!"
