How to walk away from good paying job after reaching FIRE?

53M Find it really hard to walk away from a good paying job > $130K. Still need to stay in Canada for another 1-2 years. But work is not motivated and AI is giving pressure.

How do people let go of a good paying job? i fear running out of money in this uncertain world. dedollarization. sp500 no longer / may not provides 6.7% real annual return etc etc.

Update: It you were in similar situation and psyche - want to know how you get over the hump and emerge on the other side …

Numbness after stopping Synjardy

I finally had it. My dr (vancouver canada) does not believe in diet and exercise to tackle T2D. Told me for years it’s a progressive disease.

my A1C for the past 5-8 years has been 6-6.7. Most recent is 6.2%.

Since the past 1 year my smallest toes outer side started to feel “weird”. It kinda worries me. I have been working out 5 times a week with moderate success - 3days weight 2 days cardio - not muscular by any means. Exercise definitely helped dropping a1c from 6.7 to 6.2. i am 52M.

Last 8 days i decided to use CGM and stop taking Synjardy cold turkey. i have been following low carb diet for 4 months. i want to try carnivore diet but synjardy is causing massive drop in blood sugar at nights and the dreadful risk of ketoacidosis/DKA. One time blood test says my ketones is 7.8 which is dangerous. Normal ketosis is 3.0?

since i am off meds sugar level avg 6mmol/L or overtime is equivalent to 5.4% A1C so that’s fantastic.

but my concern is numbness seems to get a bit worse. sometimes when i lay side ways and i feel my finger tips also started to feel “funny”.

Am i being paranoia or i am doing something severely wrong here?

Does anyone has this experience ? Please help and share your experience.

Please don’t ask me to get back to the meds. i am planning to come clean with my GP about my “experiment” in about 3 weeks.

Why do we as patient have to do this ? Granted its my choice. I don’t trust the standard medical practice is the only option.

I felt so alone in this. please share your personal experience.
