The historic Cambridge-Watertown dispute (and a question on a new book)

Has anyone read Watertown: Under Color of Law yet?

I’ve been diving into local history and learned that back in 1632, Watertown and Cambridge (then "New Towne") had a massive political dispute over a tax.

The Massachusetts Court ordered settlements to pay for a stockade fort right here in Cambridge.

Watertown's freemen flat-out refused, arguing it was imposed without representation—the first organized protest of its kind in America.🤣🤣🤣

Knowing this area has a 400-year history of citizens standing up to local institutional overreach is wild.
