Getting back to reading,your suggestions Pls

I want to know your experiences with these books if u ve ever read any of them,I read most of my books in french(personal preference)but I can read in English as well, I have these books RN(Le joueur:The gambler) and I want to go back to reading after 8months of getting trapped into watching a bunch of movies, and some sort of a loss of interest.I don t have a problem with reading long books,I just want something that is both immersive and reflective, preferably I want to read one book at a time but I m fine with two books if both choices won t overlap and make me miss the plot of one of the two books.Would be more than glad to hear your suggestions.Thank you,I want to start but when I decide to start I just keep staring at them not knowing what to choose haha

A problem with the player development system in fc

Yesterday I started a save with hamburg,legendary difficulty,low budget(1mil) and a strict negotiation system,wanted to repeat the 2016 Leicester city scenario.But smthn I ve noticed is that,for example, I have poulsen as a striker,74 over,managed to score 30 goals with him in the first season but to my surprise,only +2overall.The thing is, the development is heavily based on the potential and age ,now that in itself isn t a problem,but my problem is with neglecting every other aspect of it,making it nearly impossible to witness the exceptional improvement and rise of players like Jamie Vardy,Drogba,di natale,joselu..,who managed to prove themselves at the age of 25 or more.it just kills the immersion.
