Keep in mind this is a "If everything goes right scenario" expect like 12 less teams.
Yellow Border = 2029-2031
First off, sorry for posting double today. Secondly I've been working on this list for a little while now and just need help finalizing it.
Confirmed:
FLT United
Salem City FC
Want to join soon (2028-2029):
Annapolis Blues FC
Apotheos FC
Asheville SC
Dothan United
Dayton Dutch Lions FC
Erie Sporting Center FC
Peoria City
Real Central NJ
Later on (2030-2031):
Arkansas Wolves SC
Nola Ramparts FC
Wayyyyyyyy Later (2100):
Tucson FC
Montgomery United
Akron City (?)
And the teams I need help deciding on are:
Ballard FC - Had pro ambitions, now are saying they "want to keep prices low"
Vermont Green FC - Never had pro ambitions but are a big team
Flint City Bucks - Same as Vermont
Minneapolis City SC - A lot of people have said they have pro ambitious but I'm yet to see any article or post that has said so
Inter New Hampshire - Yeah this one is probably dead
Akron City - Pursued pro, said it was to expensive so followed a grass roots route, still want to go pro?
A while back a team called Inter New Hampshire said they planned to move up to USL1. A new team named The New Hampshire Soccer Project has appeared. They both are battling to be the pro team in New Hampshire and I'm wondering which one is more likely if any or maybe even both.
We haven't gotten an update since their hiatus, no construction started on their stadiums, and even worse for South Georgia Tormenta they didn't end up meeting their deadline for the 2027 season and haven't released an official statement on why.
I'm trying to make a business and use this as my logo however a random thought came to mind which is if I could get sued for using the las vegas skyline. If so, what alternatives could I do? I already have a secondary diamond logo but it doesn't look quite as good as this.
I call it interesting cause it’s a mix of outdated but also potentially new. Im currently trying to know what team is that to the left of rodeo and atlético Dallas and which teams is on top of Oakland and Sacramento. This map is also interesting being it contains North Carolina but not SGT. USL Milwauke is also shown which is an interesting choice.
Overall I don’t think this a confirmation or a leak of any teams, I’m just trying to figure out the two that I mentioned but also it’s interesting how this ultimate scenario looks for 2028.
Edit: I just realized this was posted the 18th of May so not new, it just randomly got recommended.
As we all know the new "Thousand Oaks" team is actually just the La Galaxy 2's team in disguise which is huge because it's the first instance of a MLSNP switching to USL1 and first instance since all the secondary teams transferred to MLSNP that a pro team switches leagues (tlfc doesn't count).
Now how could this affect the Soccer Warz? This move shows that USL1 could be more desirable to lower division pro teams, Ventura County willingly moved to the USL1. This could mean other teams, most likely independent, could aspire to also make this move soon. Especially with Pro/Rel, it makes joining USL1 a better deal.
Now here is a quick break down of all the "soccer territory warz" that have happened between the third division:
Cleveland USL vs Cleveland FC: MLSNP ends up winning the bid.
Ventura County vs Thousand Oaks: Oak's sports holding chooses to join USL1 rather than renewing with La Galaxy
Chatt vs Red Wolves: Still ongoing with the MLSNP going more successfully. Red wolves is most likely to lose this one.
Jax vs Armada: Still ongoing however Sporting Jax is guaranteed to win this one. They are a higher division (eventually will be 2 divisions higher) which gives no reason to watch the armada.
So from these 4 wars we can say its 2-2. However this could change to a 3-1 or even a 4-0. Whether either Chattanooga teams win, the city will stay as a USL city. The fans of the MLSNP side want to join USL and considering how big they are it gives no use continuing to go against B teams rather than trying to fight for promotion to a second division. This could also be a similar story for Cleveland though it's too early to tell.
Now there is still one thing that may incline Chattanooga FC and Cleveland FC to stay in MLSNP and that is that they are wanting to move away from the B team league and start integrating for independent teams without a soccer market. Essentially transforming Next Pro into a minor league. While I don't think this guarantees them staying I do think that it doesn't make the war one sided yet. It's a 50/50.
All in all this is just a speculation, I'm not saying this guarantees USL winning the Soccer Warz but rather it's less one sided that we originally thought. These are only speculations, no mlsnp independent team has expressed interest in joining USL1 not even Ventura County themselves.
Hey guys, I know this question has probably been asked a million times before but I feel like it's been a bit since it was last asked. So my apologies if you are annoyed at this.
Right now only FT Lauderdale is confirmed to make the jump so that's out of the question however I'm trying to see who else will probably make it in the next 2-3 years.
Right now I have (from most to least likely):
Dothan United SC - Is super ambitious and has stated they want to go pro multiple times.
Asheville City SC- Has good infrastructure and decent attendance
Annapolis Blues FC - Very high attendance
Ballard FC - Has shown interest in joining USL L1 and has decent attendance
Vermont Green - One of the most competitive and well known teams. It out preforms many of these teams above it, however it might not happen due to them being against using carbon dioxide (so no transportation from long distances)
Honorable mentions?:
Little Rock Rangers
Flint City Bucks
Rochester FC (Minnesota)
With Vegas possibly getting an mls team I don’t really see a reason on why I would want to watch the USL. I was wondering if I should continue to pursue the league or just move on.
With the league turning to 20 teams and no more pro/rel might as well make the most of it. I'm asking what would be your guy's ultimate liga mx? Which teams should return/go up? What format should it take? Salary Caps etc..
Personally a 12/12 north and south division is what I'd go for.
Returning Teams would be (in this case Atlante is already in):
Morelia
UdeG
Dorados
Tampico Madero
Mineros
Irapuato
