M.2 Not Detected. Cannot Format. Any Ideas?
My friends PC won’t boot. I determined it’s probably the M.2. He moved to his new apartment this weekend and when he setup his computer it would only boot to bios, so he dropped it off to me to look at. The M.2 at first wasn’t detected at all, in the bios was no Windows Boot Manager option. I switched CSM on and I can’t find any partitions on the drive at all. I updated the bios and figured I just re-install Windows fresh since he said he didn’t need anything on it. Can’t format it. Can’t partition it. I put it in another PC via a M.2 enclosure, but it’s not detected. So I had a spare M.2 and installed Windows on that and the PC works just fine. But I’m wondering if it’s possible to salvage the old M.2? Maybe get it working again. I also find it extremely odd that it no longer works simply by moving it from one place to another(assuming he was gentle with it). Any ideas?
