Help me create some Aeorian items

Bidet,

I am running a Tal'Dorei Reborn campaign (set around the end of campaign 2 if that makes a difference) and I am planning a side quest about a Aeormaton who left right before the fall of Aeor in a desperate bid to find divine healing for its dying creator, only to fail his self imposed mission because of the whole nasty Calamity business. He somehow managed to wander around until now, in disrepair, selling Aeorian trinkets to get the gold to maintain his body in some sort of working condition. These trinkets should be interesting to collectors and amateur historians, but not powerful or useful enough to attract the attention of any sort of important arcane inclined individuals.

And I thought, where better to find inspiration for the sort of trinkets sold than the fans of the universe? Please share with me your ideas for fun little things an Aeromaton might pawn for gold.

Player threw me a curveball; soul alchemy help?

Let me start saying, I don't know how I did not see this coming.

It has been established in my world that, while rare, warforged souls exist. At the end of the previous campaign the warforged player received such a soul from the gods as reward, it showed up as a small glowing cube. In the epilogue the warforged player created a child using this gifted soul. The player is playing this child as his character.

During the game, the party found a book to construct a golem, only I flavored it as a warforged type construct for the warforged player. They spend the time and money needed to make the construct.

Now the player has declared his goal to be to find a soul to put into the reskinned golem. To aid him, he called up his dad and in RP I said that in general, two souls are needed to create a new soul.

What I intended: Funny conversation about sex between two beings who have neither the capability for sex nor a real understanding of biological reproduction.

What the players heard: lore dump.

Couple of days after the last session, I got a word document with a whole NPC, with connections to the warforged character's childhood, and feelings on both sides. This is the other soul the player wants to create a new soul with.

I do not want to say no. The NPC I got handed actually plugs an unrelated plot hole I was struggling with.

I just have no clue on how to have the player go about creating a new soul. It has to be some sort of soul alchemy thing (these constructs can't have sex) and it has to involve a second soul, and I don't want to do another gift from the gods.

Suggestions?

Edit after some more thought: I've also discussed this with some DM friends not on reddit, and there seems to be a consensus that it would require a "part of the soul" or sacrifice of the parents to this new soul. I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts on the ethics of asking the player to give up 2 ability score points (their choice) to create this new soul. Is that harsh? Would you do it to have a potentially powerful sidekick character?

Rock & Roll Monsters?

Hi Mark,

A Tiefling Bard sold his soul to a devil at the cross roads to become famous as the life of the party. Practically over night a camp/village popped up around him, people who are desperate/outcast/free spirited are drawn to this Coach stop now called Coachella. They all live out bits from famous songs from the 60s through 90s. There's going to be werewolves for a Hotel California mission and dancing zombies led by a necromancer in a red jacket, but other than that, do you have any monsters to fit a Rock&Roll (and blues, and country and folk) vibe?

Help me find side quests from songs please

Hi.

The second act of my campaign starts next week, and I am adding a side quest town. This town is being run by a not-exactly-evil bard (just selfish, entitled and only concerned with keeping the party going) and I wanted to fill this town with old rock song things. So far I have Tommy who used to work at the docks and his partner Gina who works at the inn (because diners aren't a thing in this setting) And there's been a murder, a young woman called Elisa Day was found near the river among the wild roses.

And...I blanked. I really thought I would have thousands of little references to make up this Sex, Drugs & Rock and Roll town and I stupidly can't think of a thing. Help?

My first successful party betrayal. Feels good, man.

I did it. After 5 years of DMing, I pulled off my first successful party betrayal in a way the players seem to enjoy.

For the last 7 months, my party have been running all over the Underdark, gathering ingredients for an antidote to what they thought was a powerful hag's curse. They encountered a being trapped inside a doll who promised them riches if the party helped him return to his body.

And while I've seen players pick up on some of the foreshadowing I sprinkled around, none of them made a big deal of it, just a couple of OOC comments here and there.

Last Sunday, they finally got their hands on the last ingredient, found this being's remains, and finished the ritual.

When the being got restored, I hit the players (lvl 6) with an overpowered and slightly homebrewed psychic scream (no exploding heads, the being wasn't attacking, it was just a thing that happened as he came into his full power) They failed the int saves.

As their world faded to white with the mental overload, the last thing they saw was the ulitharid mage rise from the remains. He had been banished from the hive for pursuing the arcane.

From the ulitharid's POV he kept his word. The players woke in an expensive tavern with 5000 platinum for their services. But they are well aware they just unleashed the campaign's BBEG into the world.

I've been riding a DMing high for over 24 hrs. Man, I love this game.

I can't get a named villager to teleport. (java)

I am making a city hall, and players can summon a city clerk with a button attached to a command block.
summon minecraft:villager 63 64 -170.00 {Rotation:[-90f,0f],CustomName:"city clerk"}

works perfectly, he shows up where I want him, facing the way I want him, has "city clerk" hovering over his head, triggers the next command block with a "say" command-- it's all looking good.

But then, after some things the redstone chain I want him to tp up a floor and for the life of me, I can't get the command block to target this guy for the teleport.

what am I missing here?
