Will this be a difficult extraction?

Will this be a difficult extraction?

Hello,

26F in the UK here.

I recently had a gum infection around this awkward tooth (pictured) that never pushed out my baby tooth. I had an emergency appointment with a new dentist, and they were horrified that my old dentist never addressed this tooth along with other issues going on in my mouth. I think where I was an NHS patient at my old practice, they would do the absolute minimum.

I’m now prioritising resolving these issues after years of neglect (with a new dentist, of course) including: regular hygienist visits, invisalign, a possible implant, and getting this tooth out before it causes me further problems.

My question is, how would you go about this extraction? Would you need to cut my gum? Segment the tooth? Or do you think it’d be a quick job?

I’m a nervous patient so I’d like to know as much as possible before going into it. If it sounds like it’s going to be a difficult one, I might arrange for conscious sedation.

Thank you! And please be nice.
