“If it fits - it fits” moments with 2017 Strive CF and 230/65mm shock
Originally the Canyon Strive 2017 comes with a Shapeshifter and 200/57 rear shock. Find something good in those dimensions now is hell of a work. My half-drunk head (and same of a friend of mine) once decided to measure the eye-to-eye using the shapeshifter mount as eye. Apparently it is 230mm. Having a Commencal Meta AM V4 with DVO JadeX 230/65mm the decision was made and the action is started. We’ve got rid of the shapeshifter, used the same axle (that somehow perfectly fitted to the shock bolt), got some spacers to perfectly position the shock’s eyelet and voila - now the previously used 200/57 Strive is on 230/65 with the same geometry and rear wheel travel.
Although the leverage is bit busted, but it works surprisingly well. For the experiment only, but Daymn
