Nuggets start slow, trade Jokic to Jazz

Most will hate this, but if I were a fan of either team, I’d be ok with it.
After a slow start, Denver realizes the rest of Jokic’s prime years aren’t near enough in the West bc of their cap issues. The Jazz, and Peterson, look great, so Ainge takes a massive swing.

Denver gets 3 valuable unprotected 1sts, a ton of upside in Ace and a valuable piece in Lauri. The Lauri/A Gordon fit isn’t great, so one of them could bring back a nice haul, although they don’t control next years 1st so mini-tanking isn’t ideal. Getting off Brauns deal is huge, Brice is an NBA player and Cody is a lotto ticket. This beats being a 6 seed the next few years.

If Peterson and George are thriving in the backcourt, adding Jokic to Jaren Jackson up front makes them instant contenders.
Braun is a terrible contract, but he actually fits well with Jokic getting him open looks and can help fill the 3 spot. Utah still has the draft capital and cap flexibility to help with the 3 spot and bench.

Zion to the Bucks; Myles to Pelicans

Pelicans get their stretch 5 in Turner and a rotation guard.
G- Fears
G- Dej Murray
SF- Murphy
PF- Queen
C- Turner
Herb, Poole, Bey, Green

Milwaukee has a shot at a 7/8 seed if Zion stays on the court, shaves a year off of $ and it frees up Ware.
G- Rollins
G- Herro
SF- Jasquez
PF- Zion
C- Ware
Jasper, the #10 and #13 pick, Porter

Both teams improve

What’s wrong with this easy Jazz/Wizards trade?

Jazz receive:
#1 pick
Last years #6 pick Tre Johnson

Wizards receive:
#2 pick
Last years #5 pick Ace Bailey

Ace is the better prospect, the better defender, but both are young and had similar rookie years statistically. Either team could also throw in a small sweetener (protected pick, salary relief) to close any gap. Both teams also get prospects with a better chance of staying on their teams long term imo.

George, AJ, JJJ, Lauri and Kessler is a great core with little skill overlap for Utah.
Darryn, Ace and Sarr is a great young group and actually fit in well with Trae and AD as well.
