With Treyarch's announcement becoming one of the most-liked Call of Duty posts ever, it's pretty clear there's a huge demand for Black Ops 1 and Black Ops 2 to return.

After digging through the announcement, Activision statements, and reports from multiple outlets, here's everything we know so far:

Confirmed

✅ Black Ops 1 and Black Ops 2 are coming to PS4 and PS5

✅ These are full releases including:

• Campaign
• Multiplayer
• Zombies

✅ These are PORTS, not remasters

✅ They're being handled by Iron Galaxy, not Treyarch

✅ More information is expected in July

New Servers

One of the biggest details is that these versions are reportedly running on their own servers rather than the original PS3 infrastructure.

If true, this could mean:

• Better matchmaking
• A fresh start for progression
• Far fewer issues than the current Xbox versions

No Crossplay

Reports suggest:

• No PS3 crossplay
• No Xbox crossplay
• No PC crossplay

Honestly, I think this is a good thing.

A fresh player pool with no PC mod menus, hacks, or security issues sounds exactly what these games need.

Not A Remaster

No signs of:

• FOV Slider
• New features
• Gameplay changes
• 120Hz modes

At least for now, these appear to be straight ports rather than fully modernized remasters.

The Big Questions

1. Will DLC be included or sold separately?
2. Will Zombies matchmaking actually be active?
3. Will the servers stay clean from hackers?
4. Will Xbox eventually receive upgraded native versions too?
5. If these sell well, could this finally convince Activision to revisit classic Zombies in a bigger way?

Personally, I don't care if they're ports.

If I can boot up BO1 or BO2 Zombies, find a lobby quickly, and play without hackers, that's enough for me.
