NEED HELP: Any Norwegian students doing a Swedish-taught programme at KTH?
Hi! I’m a 20-year-old Norwegian who just moved to Stockholm and will be starting Civilingenjör i Datateknik at KTH.
I understand Swedish very well, both written and spoken, but I don’t speak Swedish properly yet and I’ve never had to write academically in Swedish.
Since the first three years of Datateknik are mainly in Swedish, I’m wondering if there are any other Norwegian students at KTH who have been in a similar situation.
How was it for you in the beginning? Were lectures/exams difficult because of the language? Were you allowed to write exams and assignments in Norwegian, or did you have to write in Swedish? And how long did it take before you felt completely comfortable studying in Swedish?
I’d especially love to hear from Norwegians doing Datateknik or another Swedish-taught Civilingenjör programme at KTH or someone who knows how this works.
