Have a situation going on in life... and have used up all my resources in the past 2 years, kind of in a pickle and really need 20k ASAP

You hear stories about people on the dark web, scammers, cybercriminals, etcc. supposedly making huge amounts of money. Is that actually common, or are we mostly hearing about the rare “success stories” while ignoring everyone who fails, gets caught, or makes very little?
I’m wondering how much of it is exaggeration, survivorship bias, or internet myths versus reality. Why does it seem like some people make so much money in those spaces?
I see these videos on youtube people stealing hundreds of mils etc, almost getting away with it, is it really that easy? Do simple people really go there to make money?
or is it something more satire? more just like ransomware and so on
I see this hype about dark web but its all just crime and so, what real use does it bring lol?
