I’ve got an older Japanese Tama Rockstar XD kit and It has a metal snare drum. I’m in a band that plays music that doesn’t require loud drums. Style wise think Meat Puppets II. I play a very minimalist kit too. Three piece and a high hat and nice old crashable ride. For most of my songs I use bundled sticks, but I use regular sticks on some songs too. I’m wondering if I could get a warmer tone with a wood snare drum? Drumming isn’t my main squeeze. I’m actually a classical double bass player so I’m not super knowledgeable about drums yet. I practice a good bit though now. If one were to suggest I switch to a wood snare drum what’s some good options new or used that wouldn’t break the bank? Thanks!

I’m a double bass luthier. I ordered a bending iron from Andrew Wheeldon who custom makes bending irons. I purchased an iron from him in October and never received my product. He finally stopped responding to my emails. He is currently doing this to a violin and bass luthier I know too. He gets different excuses from Andrew than I get. Does anyone here know of this guy? I’m calling my credit card company this week and hoping it’s not too late to dispute a charge. The total was close to $600.

I ordered and paid $600 for a bending iron from a guy named Andrew Wheeldon from Caramillo Bending Irons 6 months ago and I’m pretty sure he’s taken my money and that’s that. He finally stopped responding to my emails too. I know another luthier who is going through the same issue. Lost money and no product. Does anyone here know this guy?

Looking to replace my piece of crap PDP double pedal made into a single pedal with something that doesn’t fall apart on me! I don’t mind buying used. What pedals are a good find on a budget? $50-$100 on marketplace kinda budget. Suggestions?
