Cleaning Solution Approach

Dealing with mililiters and teaspoons is tedious for fat-fingered me in the middle of a run and I'm wondering if there are simpler approaches. It's impressive that the robot remembers where he ran out of solution and runs back to address the spots he missed after he gets a fresh tank. Bravo!!!

Mixing a big batch is attractive - will a pre-mixed batch "spoil" over time?

I thought about loading premixed solution into several tanks at once and then just popping in a full tank without a long interruption in the cleaning cycle. But the tanks are pricey. Maybe a five-for-the-price-of three would help but that's still $20 a tank.

Any other ideas?

Thanks.

Consider a Subscription/Exchange Plan for Future Harware Upgrades

I suspect this pitch has already been made - if so, just consider this an "up-vote."

Even as a new user, it's clear to me the development team is intent on preserving clients' investment in the product by making new featurers possible via software. But..., I'm thinking such a creative group will some day imagine some improvements that might need a hardware tweak or an additonal part or etc etc.

Why not develop a reasonably priced Subscription/Exchange plan? Clients who want to take advantage of an improvement that requires a visit to the factory, a new chassis, a re-furb, whatever would pay a monthly fee to cover any upgrades on an exchange basis. Prospective owners wouldn't be quite as leery of paying the cost of admission knowing they wouldn't face a pricing barrier to a significant upgrade.

Customers who didn't want to subscribe and/or didn't feel the need to have the most current model? Allow them to exchange their current robot (and a reasonable amount of $$$) for a new version when they're ready. Price the exchange based on the number of months the robot was used in order to make the subscription more attractive than waiting.

Use as much of the "older" unit as possible, but if the upgrade was significant enough to prevent this, you could refurb it and sell it, thereby maintaining the high quality standards of any robots with your brand on it.

Just a thought.

Feature Request

Have Matic clean behind open doors

Recognize an open, hinged door (that user has selected), slowly shut the door but leave space to "escape" to the other side, clean, leave the room, open the door back to where it was.

I know the device is strong enough - he moved our bathroom scale across the floor. And it seems he's smart enough, and it's clear your developers are capable enough - so you may already be working on this.

Throw Rugs on Laminate

Hello:

Is it better to map with throw rugs in place and then pick them up when you mop..., or pick up the throw rugs before you map and put them down when you vacuum?

Do folks try to mop "under the rug" as it were?

Thanks.
