Common Perry Mason tropes

My wife and I have seen every episode many times. I always like to point out these re-used story elements when we see them. What are some others you've noticed?

  1. The unlatched front door that opens when somebody knocks. That ALWAYS means there is a dead body inside! Always!

  2. Identical handguns. There were a few episodes that featured identical handguns. Perry always creates confusion around them one way or another, secretly swapping them or in one case firing one of the guns into a tree in an area related to the crime.

  3. Mis-identified bodies. A wreck or plane crash in a remote area, with no witnesses. Sometimes, Perry's client decides to switch identities with the deceased.

What others have you noticed?

Is there a good nose and ear hair trimmer?

I've tried several over the years. I had a Wahl several years ago that was pretty good.

But it seems the last couple of years, enshittification has reached this segment. New ones either barely cut, don't last any time at all, or can't reach far enough into the nose . Right now I have the deluxe Remington and it barely cuts.

All I have to go by is Amazon reviews and I swear they are all that way, I don't care how much it costs, I just want a quality trimmer that works and will last a few years!

Old Bob Hope comedy

I saw this movie once, decades ago. Bob Hope was driving some bigshot crazy, the bigshot may have thought Hope was after his wife.

Anyway, the bigshot was on the phone to the governor several times, and each time would catch a glimpse of Hope, and rudely say to the governor "Shut up! I can't talk to you now!" and hang up.

I think Hope or the bigshot may have hosted a radio program, but not sure about that. Any help appreciated!
