Is 11am on Black Friday hurting or helping the Iowa Nebraska rivalry?
This year it seems Iowa nebraska will be at 11am, with an NFL game at 2pm and Texas vs Texas ATM at 6:30pm it seems likely…
I think from a national viewers perspective it helps the rivalry as there aren’t many games on Friday morning, so our game gets a lot of the eyeballs… but the positives end there, the stadiums are typically a little sleepier the morning after thanksgiving with more fans being hungover than drunk, the student sections are half full and tired, and a good chunk of nebraska and Iowa fans have work on Black Friday… I’m starting to resent the fact we play on Black Friday, this should be a game where the stadiums/student sections are electric, but they’re often not at 11am, 2 years ago was a great atmosphere because it was at night and people had more time to rest and students had more time to get back to campus, but these 11am games feel like they’re here to stay. I hate it
