I know there can be artists who can be protective of their art and don’t really appreciate fanart that heavily reference them, but me personally, I love seeing it, especially in small friend circles like mine where we do little art trades and make cool takes on eachother’s OCs, the feeling is so validating and it’s really cool seeing how different their versions of your OWN character look like…

i don’t do them at the moment, but this goes for OC commissions aswell, but I just find it really special when it’s purely an effort between friends to challenge eachother with things like art trades and even their own takes on the lore, characterization, etc.

(The second slide is ”Daigo”, he’s a VERY heavily derived version of one of my OCs to borderline being a separate character entirely, we both technically own the character now, but there’s alot of potential born from both of our efforts in turning him into a fully fledged story that might even become a novel!!)

Not really part of my challenge, just wanted to do a quick doodle of one of my personal favorite creatures that used to scare the shit out of me :) (with a few personal touches)

I'm gaining motivation to do digital art again, so I'll start a series!, for (almost) every day probably, I'll sketch up a silly little critter with decent-ish quality (comparable to atleast some of Trevor's early work, I hope) to bring a bit of hype back into this fandom. this is surprisingly my first non-giant piece, it's heavily inspired by the Lopsiders from All Tomorrows, and i think it's decent-ish, I made it in around 20 minutes. I really like how I did the worm-like segments and the tail-Opabinia face thingy, but the hand and especially the teeth leave a lot to be desired... PLEASE leave suggestions and or especially criticism of my art, I'll try both adding a sense of Trevor's art and something a bit more original...
As for the creatures I wanna draw, they'll mostly be my pre-existing OCs (Like Approaching Demise), some of Trevor's stuff as a redraw challenge, and maybe even some fandom-suggested OCs... leave any down below

Also the title is an exaggeration, there are still good artists around here, I just want a little fun challenge for myself to improve my art to hopefully actually bring quality in here.

1: Another drawing of the outerdimensional plane entity from my last post (it’s name is simply “strangeplane” or canonically “παράξενοαεροπλάνο”) along with one other plane-derived entity that only serves in an absurdist aviation themed-realm only known as “the airfield”

2: A gigantic cosmic entity simply known as “Nele Nele” who loosely mimics that of an entire galaxy and is the size of one, it was the remnant of a universe that never existed and “collapsed” all it’s efforts forming into one singular entity

3: A redraw of the Surgical light entity from the last post, I don’t have any lore or anything for it so i’m free for suggestions

4: a giant infant-like entity who lives in an “absolute limbo” that interviews only the most depraved people among all of them and traps them there not in death but as punishment to think about what they did, it is infant-like to signify it’s absolute “purity” yet still with a sense of judgement, a normal human being.

5: A trio of self-forming nanomachines (the bottom one is the top two fused together) who do absolutely nothing but scream as they question their existence.

6: The Hallucinatory Idol, basically an earworm but given shape as a demented ”Idol”, it is what they market Idols as, with the catchy music that never gets out and trying to grab your attention and manifesting into your life as much as possible to gain a sense of a parasocial relationship. (my friend u/ThatCorruptDino has a very similar entity that is a take on this one that represents the dark side of the K-pop Industry and Community, they kinda parallel eachother)

7: a A distressing looking but peaceful creature, they are basically songbirds that play harp sounds with their “intestines” to attract mates.

8: a tampered familiarform (see my last post), it is a fallen familiarform that was given life again by humanity, but only to serve a purpose of hunting down other anomalies.

By smaller I really mean 2 less I guess, but here’s my second creature design dump!! This is my first post here, it is loosely explaining my semi-active worldbuilding project of Fukushima City AURORA, it is heavily inspired by a project with a similar name made by me and Keruyorushikai777 on Scratch of all places. it is basically an adaptation of it, but credit where credit is due.

Around the 1990’s, an undiscovered trench near Russia and the Pacific Ring of Fire would be found to have contained many very strange beings, they resembled various untouched prehistoric animals of old times, but were mostly formless, gelatinous beings, they were interesting as they behaved exactly like the animals of old times, almost like they were their “spirits” of them in some sorts as they were dubbed, homes and research facilities for them were made, they were given one massive “home” underground to incubate inside, they had the strange ability to seep our energy sources from us, mainly electricity, they managed to power down their entire underground facility, and they were spreading rapidly. they opposed no threat to local ecosystems, but their system of facilities were detonated along with the spirits.

They would survive however, in the strangest way possible: incubating various remaining monolithic structures situated around the facilities, they became one with them like a sessile organism, they were hard to rid of. they were kept a strict secret around in the 2000’s around in Asia, testing of them in incubating various objects and sometimes even other organisms were successful, they created real “chimeras” by crossing the neurological systems and most sensitive organs together mechanically, these chimeras would get larger and larger before some were made as literal living airplanes, it somehow worked. Like that of a potato computer.

They would spread rapidly even further for public interest, it skyrocketed, and they thought it was safe. humans wanted to become these things literally, this would backfire as they still would seep out electricity on a mass scale, but they could rely on the flesh of the prehistoric spirits for their entire society. They accepted them in. governments were silenced. They developed the large airplane-sized Chimeras further and creating ones made to directly combat the growing concerns of the incubations using raw firepower, they all failed however.

tables would turn slightly as the prehistoric beasts at purely animalistic instinct: would start incubating our cities further. they would turn them into ecosystems, not normal ones with plants and all that, but massive fleshy ones with all sorts of abnormal structures modified into their own “plants”, intestines would incubate pipes, surviving humans would move underground only to develop extreme paranoia from the mass incubations and turned into chimeras themselves, and they were slowly turning the entire country and geographical hotspot of Japan into their own organism, a heart, intestines, and stomachs and lungs were placed, they were building up something. they would change our entire geography forever.

Humans had nothing else but to join them, willingly turning into beast in mass, most of them became various arthropods: Insects, Arachnids, Centipedes And Millipedes. They wanted to be accepted into the prehistoric beast’s “families“, some barely resembled animals at all as the ones who never wanted to leave their homes again, they were turned into Chimeras not of mobility and beast, but of structures and even pre-existing vehicles strangely, similar to the natural incubation of the spirits.

We threw away everything to better fit into the mold of what unholy change these things brought onto our world, it was a willing never expected apocalypse self-inflicted in the worst way possible, above all else however. There seems to be a developing new common enemy, one so massive from the developing kilometers tall Chimeras, it is a dark ceiling, a clean swipe of extinction. All of our worst nightmares.

That’s all I really have for now, this is still a work in progress. Please leave any suggestions or criticisms down below, I am really new to actual worldbuilding and writing lore, I don’t have a clear writing style yet and most of it is self-taught.

1: A vaguely mechanical gigantic insectoid creature with a guillotine-shaped body that takes victims in a similar way, crushing them between dimensions and decapitating them, leaving the head briefly conscious.

2: An outerdimensional entity that coincidentally resembles that of a plane, and attaches it itself to TV broadcasts of planes for recognition.

3: A torture device given a human body and scattered sentience, constantly struggling with it’s own morality and the actions it’s attached to.

4: a biomechanical robot “handmade with love” with materials at home, in stark contrast to another character I have (not shown here) who is entirely created up by AI (in-universe, NOT that I used ai for it)

5: A fungal surgical light creature, only really a representation of my childhood fears of them.

6: a Chimeric machine powered by organs modified from kids who didn’t have any home or “role in society”

7: A ritualistic group of corpse-like organisms who come down to earth and follow a ”religion” that to us, only involves being extremely eerily silent, they also bring feelings of guilt and sadness through smells and likeness. hence their names, “Familiarforms”.

8: Another biomechanical creature (you can see I have a love for that genre) but modified from a common pest: The House Centipede (Geji-Geji in Japan), despite it’s Kaiju-like size and frightening stature, it is completely docile due to the remaining instinct combined with traces of human pattern recognition. (This one is apart of a larger story I’m working on)

9 and 10: Not much to these yet, besides a rough story concept for a ”compressed“ group of individuals and remaining personality traits forming and defining the creatures

My first post on this subreddit, these are only one of the many I have but are the ones most fitting under the “creature design” label. most of my stuff is alot more surreal than this. Please leave any suggestions or criticisms down below.

As a longtime All Tomorrows fan this one particular AI image pisses me off the most so out of my crude krita skills I drew up this with the spray brush to kinda emulate that "realistic found footage trevor henderson esque" style poorly in like 15 minutes (I don't feel like putting that much effort into this), also I used zero references from the original AI image besides the text because I'm a bit iffy from using references from a thing that probably stole like more than dozen Qu images (Including fanart) that were taken without consent into my drawn amalgamation, but I tried to emulate the original image with a bit of it's own touch.

Also the last slide concerns me, is kosemen (author of All Tomorrows) aware that the image is AI? I've followed him for a while and i truly love his artwork, I'm not going to accuse him of being pro-ai in any way (The only thing is that he generated some AI dinosaur skeletons back in 2022 but I don't think he was aware at the time), but it concerns me a bit that he's... just fine with this image existing stealing off of his and his fan's works and "approving" of it...

Anyone remember Happy Meat Farms? that one ARG channel that had some really creepy body horror subject imagery? those were probably an early form of AI imagery filtered over existing images (Smile Dog, this one viral image of a severely overweight man, and some random sketchfab model) which sucks alot, but because of how popular it used to be and how most of the rest of the entire ARG (Alex Bale’s Muse ARG) is AI-free , I used this opportunity to make an entirely AI-Free revisit of the Happy Meat Farms subjects!! they are H0022, H0024 and H0025 respectively, with the side of them being redesigned slightly to distance it from the original sources a bit more.

some info on my silly little megalophobia creature thingy that’s in it’s own universe, DEMISE^A/The Approaching Demise!

(it’s officially renamed to DEMISE^A, I found Approaching Demise to be a little cringy of a name, but I guess it caught on to call it whatever you want)

It is a gigantic structure-like insectoid creature, it is part of it’s own species in a dimension much different than ours, it is a simple sort of creature, an offshoot of a much more advanced one (that will be revealed in my OC lore) that observes the human world, it is primarily on a surface level, interested in the concept of death, but not in any malicious way, it is more fascinated with it in a observatory way since it’s own kind never experiences it, it is obsessed with it. it has observed it for centuries, with some deaths being accidental, and some horribly deliberate in the forms of torture that no normal human person can stomach, It has a mechanical-appearing body shaped like that of a guillotine, seemingly for it’s method of “introducing“ humans to it’s new form of death, which is crushing them between dimensions by levitating and wrapping them between it‘s hairs/strings and decapitating them between two separate realms, the human body cannot “comprehend“ this place at all, but the head is still conscious from it because it a place with no death at all.

“You may see a fate of being literally decapitated between our and it's dimension. your body cannot handle this new dimension, and yet you are still conscious by the head alone.”

The creature has several forms it can be seen with, it’s recognizable guillotine structure form, an earlier “pale” form with the guillotine wrapped around in some sort of cloth, a tripodal form, and possibly even smaller members of it’s kind occasionally visiting our world. It also has a primary prey source, the so-called “Harbinger‘s Nests” that I posted on this subreddit once, the bug caught the early bird this time.

The creature’s exact height is unknown, as it is quite silly (IMO) to give an exact height to an already incomprehensibly large creature, but it is roughly 3 miles tall (~4828 meters). this is for all of those size comparison people I guess

This is a brief description for now, everything I have for the creature, if you have any suggestions or criticisms or questions, feel free to comment them.

(it was apparently meant to be a cosplay by one of the adult characters, I don’t exactly remember which one, probably Mrs Rabbit, also there was a main “villain” (that was frankly terrible because it’s a kids film) of the movie that was also an Undyne reference for some reason

it’s pretty much almost a nothingburger honestly. I understand most in general probably see Trevor and his works as a passing fad that died out like 5 year ago and most have understandably moved on from one artist and his creatures, and there are definitely still some good artists and people around now, but I really can’t find much of a sense of a “community” living anymore or even a following that isn’t just some random kids lurking around on the internet for some reason (I’m talking about other places like YouTube, this subreddit is fine) and it feels all too oddly detached from anything of what a ”fandom” would be, Trevor nuked his twitter and moved onto posting on other sites, and he still has people around him personally, but other than the dedicated spaces he actually is around, there isn’t much of a outside branching-out community anymore.

Now obviously, there isn’t really anything wrong with kids looking up to him or learning how to draw found footage style art, but it really feels like it’s the only center stage now especially hype surrounding “The Giants“ with what little there is of them canonically (especially “World Eater” and “Behemoth”, having little to nothing to them at all) and the countless fanmade ones that are all lumped in and claimed to be by Trevor aswell, mostly on YouTube and Roblox and the such, but it really brings me to that side which is still technically Trevor, but it just riddled with what I wanted to rant about the most.

All the AI slop.

All over TikTok, just by searching his name, you have countless garbage AI videos of “animated” Trevor art that goes viral, and it’s usually not just Trevor himself, it’s multiple other artists who created in the same style as him, (Including some of mine, with the creature “Approaching Demise” I drew), anyone who remotely knows Trevor and other artists alike know how garbage the AI industry is, and absolutely despise it for good reason, but is this all we will leave TikTok with?, AI garbage that DIRECTLY gets fed artist’s works no matter how high or low quality they are?, TikTok is already a hotspot for bad content, but it’s just really disappointing to see all the time and it even existing in general. YouTube is pretty shit now too, just by searching Trevor or something, all you really get is more constant AI-filtered slop videos in Minecraft or Roblox or whatever or those “size comparisons“, only really because they get clicks by children who shouldn’t even be on the platform In the first place.

i won’t make this a space to just complain about “kids ruining the Trevor Henderson space“ like some other folks do, they were always present in this fandom, but I just really want more than them and a solidified “community” and people here together for TH inspired content, and I don’t really see much discussion of much of Trevor’s other work other than his most popular creatures, 3/5 of his Makeship promotions he trialed on Instagram failed, and I know blindly following one public figure on the internet could be weird, but I think making this more of a solid lukewarm “community“ could be an incredible opportunity to spawn new and inspired horror creators just from a few fanmade drawings inspired by Trevor, like Doctor Nowhere for example who also used to do tons of Trevor-inspired stuff as a teen, and look at him now, I know ”fanmade” Trevors are controversial and most of them (again, especially “the giants”) are all lumped into one group of “Trevor“ stuff, but I know many creators that want to do more with their work other than just being blankly inspired by Trevor with nothing else to add to it, I have tried myself aswell, perhaps maybe we could get a group of the few remaining artists here working together to make something cool?

This is the end of the discussion for now. this may not be worded the best, please give me critiques on what you possibly think, this is just based on all of my observations for now as a Trevor fan since 2020 or so.
