Any apps that teach you the names of the alephbet and font variations? Coming from Duolingo.

I’ll preface this by saying I’m Jewish but I never learned Hebrew growing up as my Jewish mother did not raise me Jewish (so I grew up with no Hebrew school, no Bar Mitzvah, and no Temple services apart from weddings and funerals).

I’ve been using Duolingo to learn Hebrew and I think so far it has been effective. I can actually read Hebrew now that is on PJ library books (for which I look at the Romanization to make sure and am pleasantly surprised I get it right a lot of the time).

My biggest gripe, however, with Duolingo is that you learn the alephbet by only associating the letters with sounds and not the names of the letters. It’s very frustrating to look at ח and call it by its sound of “kh” or ש and call it by its sound of “sh.” It’s an educational gap that makes me look silly for describing letters by their sounds.

Apart from this gap, I also noticed that when I try to read the prayer book at Temple (yes, I have decided as an adult to attend Temple services :) ), as well as when I see written Hebrew, I sometimes don’t recognize a particular variation of a letter that is used.

What apps do you all recommend for learning the official names of the letters of the alephbet and for covering a wider range of font (both written and digital font)?

Looking for good holiday brisket recipes and beginner tips

My surviving Jewish family members don’t really cook Jewish food (my late GG was the only one who did and brisket was not something she cooked), so I don’t really have a good recipe for brisket that has been passed down.

It’s something I’ve only been able to eat when I’ve been invited over to eat at other people’s family’s homes, so it’s something I always wanted to learn how to make. So if there is a good recipe anyone has found online or a good YouTube video, please share! I’m not too picky about particular styles or taste as I don’t have much to compare it to. I’m not sure how well kept family brisket recipes are, but if you’d also like to share a personalized recipe too, I’d appreciate that as well.

Tips on what cut of meat to buy and slicing methods would be helpful too.

I might not be attempting to make brisket until some holiday gathering in the near future, but I’m looking forward to any suggestions to save in my back pocket for that special occasion.

What do you all think the likelihood of the AES+ outputting a C-sync signal? Was wondering if there has been any news about what is under the hood and which revision of the motherboard that the ASIC will recreate/be modeled after.

This is important to know as it will decide what existing RGB Scart cables will be compatible or if we need to make some modifications, like an RGB C-sync mod.
