I get not liking the game but there’s no way people think this Wolverine is “weak”…his feats were pretty crazy

I don’t think Liam’s Wolverine is “soft” or “toned down” too much in character, it’s just his look/default facial expressions(outside of fighting) are.

Wolverine doesn’t have to be an asshole or look upset 95% of the time to be or feel like Wolverine. This Wolverine isn’t quite as edgy as Hugh or X-Men TAS but that doesn’t make him any less Wolverine.

If you pay attention to Origins, X2, X3, DOFP, or even X-Men 97/Wolverine & the X Men, he’s not always being an asshole/edgy.
When he’s with Rogue, Jean, Bobby, Silver Fox, Krestel, Kitty, the professor, the random mutant kid who switched the channel with his eyes in X2, he’s chill and tries to connect.

Wolverine in this game has a lot of those moments being standoffish, bad at communicating or an asshole with Shiro, Essex, Mystique and Sabertooth. But around Jean, Walter and the mutant kids, he’s chill and tries to connect. He has standoffish moments with Jean though too like in the cabin.

This Wolverine for almost all of his memory has been with Team X before he went off alone, so there’s an established “found family” dynamic between him and other characters, he knows them well.

But Wolverine has always been a multifaceted character who can be the loner, the weapon, the brother, the cool unc/mentor and/or a lover depending on the plot and I think this Wolverine portrays all of those characteristics well. Since it’s a 15-20 hour game playing as him the entire time with internal dialogue I think it’s pretty fitting.

But his default facial expressions when he’s not upset or fighting, and the shorter, light brown hair definitely tones down his look and makes him look softer.
