I love this marble tabletop so much that I'm having trouble deciding what to put on it. Thoughts on decor?

Just got this new Hulala desk and the marble top is easily my favorite part.

Right now there are only a few little things sitting on it because part of me wants to keep the whole surface almost empty lol. It feels wrong to cover up something this pretty.

And the desk definitely needs a bit more life. Maybe a tray, some storage, books, or something small in the corner?

Open to any ideas, as long as nobody tells me to put something on here that’s going to scratch my precious marble.

Client conversations get weird once the recorder is on the table

Been thinking about this more after a few in-person client sessions.

The official answer is obvious: ask, get consent, record if it makes sense. Sure, sounds right in theory.

But in reality, the room does change a bit when there’s a phone or recorder sitting there. People get a little more careful. I get more aware that I’m “recording a meeting” instead of just having a conversation. It’s subtle, but it shifts the vibe and pacing.

I tried using a NotePin S during a workshop because I wanted to capture things without making the device the center of the table. That actually helped, not because it’s doing anything magical, just because it felt less… noticeable? Less like everyone was reacting to it.

Still not sure I’d use it for every client convo. Probably just the messier ones where I know I’ll care about the follow-up notes later.

Curious how others handle this, how do you keep it from changing the dynamic?

It is said to be a curved, pebble like slab of glass, featuring an ever so slight curvature around the display that hides the bezels completely.

Liquid Glass UI elements would make way more sense on that kind of hardware.

It’s gonna be so beautiful.
