Maybe 10 years ago, I visited a friend who lived on the 2500 block of Feagan Street. If we didn't walk, the restaurant was a very short drive. I had this deep-fried, shrimp-and-cheese-stuffed avocado hand grenade and SWOON. One of the places we ate was El Tapatio, but I don't see it on their menu.

Why I'm looking: Another dear friend is having treatment at MC Anderson Cancer Center later this month and will be there a week. Because I feel helpless, I'm trying to send "vacation ideas," I don't think she has never been to Houston. That avocado is still on my mind ... where did I enjoy it or, more importantly, where can my friend enjoy something similar?
