Have visited both crescents this week/ and they are magnificent and architectural beautiful. As is Bath in general.

Then I got thinking, were both crescents basically the slave traders OAP retirement homes?

Or is there more to it than this?

And why Bath? what were the links to Bath that didn't have a port for sea faring vessels?

Genuinely not trying to stir the pot here , just interested in the back story.
