Zamnesia "Kanna Extreme" — Easily the worst kanna extract I've wasted money on in years
I've been using kanna for a while now and have tried several different extracts. I generally look for clean, stimulating, uplifting effects with minimal plant residue.
The Kanna Extreme from Zamnesia is hands-down the biggest disappointment I've come across. Utter dogshit.
What I hate about it:
—Disgusting earthy "planty" taste and smell, like cheap low-grade herb
—Noticeable vegetal residue — feels completely unrefined
—Weak and disappointing effects even at higher doses (they recommend 25 mg, I've been pushing 50–60 mg sublingual and it's still underwhelming)
—Heavy, drowsy, sedating profile — I can't stop yawning after taking it. Zero clean serotonergic stimulation or brightness
Instead of giving me that empathogenic, motivated, switched-on feeling… it just leaves me dull, lethargic and brain-fogged
The most infuriating part is that they market it as a strong premium extract. In reality it feels like mediocre powdered kanna at best — and an overpriced one at that.
I bought two grams specifically for emergency use because kanna has generally worked very well for me as self-medication against stage panic. I had an important jam session coming up and decided to use it… an absolute disaster. It completely killed my playing. No edge, no bite, no drive — none of that sharp, speedy technical feel I usually get from good kanna extracts. Just left me flat and frustrated as hell while playing.
To be clear: my experience is mainly with extracts (I've only tried raw herb once, as a weak tea that was also mildly sedating). And compared to every other extract I've used, this one is a massive downgrade — dirtier, more sedating, and far less effective.
My usual ROA is sublingual, with small intranasal boosts after a while before redosing sublingually again. I haven't even dared to try insufflating Kanna Extreme — just looking at this stuff, I can only imagine how brutal that would be on the sinuses.
If you're looking for proper mesembrine-driven stimulation, sociability, focus, or just a clean functional experience… stay the fuck away from this shit.
Total waste of money. I'm genuinely pissed I bought it.
Has anyone else tried Zamnesia Kanna Extreme and had the same terrible experience, or did I just get particularly unlucky?
