Is having children necessary to live a full life?

I have been walking this path of not wanting children while thinking of what it means to have a child for myself and my partner.

I don't see it as a smart choice for myself as I am a caregiver for my disabled family member and terminally ill parent.

There is this push to have children from other family members... yet I just don't see how this would benefit my life in a meaningful way.

I know I could do it and be a great parent, I just don't see why it is necessary given the state of the world we live in, the constant fight I face in navigating systems that don't work among many other things. It just does not feel like the right time, place, or reason to have children in my own opinion.

I am fully content with my life, balancing work, school, and family.

Basically my question is, why? Is it necessary? What makes it ok and not ok?
