Why would drug assessment lady say this??

Long story short, I violated probation for drug use in November And January, stopped using in February(approximately), but It took a while to be extradited back to Texas, bailed out, have 2 court dates, all to finally be offered more probation time if my drug assessment doesn't recommend inpatient rehab.

Initially she has some questions in about my life in general, which is that I have a baby on the way and and preparing for that and for my family to come live with me since they are in the state that I was in when I got arrested and I can't go back there. When she found out that the recent ua fails were for meth, she said "you know that if you touch a baby and are using meth it'll absorb into the baby skin and get it high?". The statement got me off guard and honestly is a little offensive, so that's kind of was like sitting there with a wow face for a moment and then said something like "I don't doubt that but I'm not concerned about that" since I haven't been using and won't use again. I didn't mean to sound rude, but when I realized it may have sounded rude I clarified why I was not concerned. She asked the question again about if I knew that, and I said that when I had my first kid I learned everything I could but having a baby and I'm sure I ran into something like that at some point or it seems like common sense at least, but again it was not something I was concerned about.

Before and after that interaction, the the rest of the hour we just got along great and felt like it went pretty well, but that question keeps sticking out to me, so I was wondering if anyone has any insight to why she would ask such a question? I am guessing as a test or just to see my reaction. Thank you for reading
