The suspicious activity pop-up comes up here a lot, so here are the most common causes in one place.

Usually it's one of these: logging in from a device that isn't yours, more than two OneForma users on one household connection, public or corporate Wi-Fi, or a VPN, proxy or iCloud Private Relay switched on. Multiple accounts aren't allowed either.

A lot of people apply to a project, hear nothing back, and assume it was a flat no with no way to know why. If that's been your experience, it's worth understanding what actually happens on the other side of a review.

This video walks through what recruiters look at when your application comes in, and how much of it is actually within your control. A few things it covers: which parts of your profile get read first (and which ones people tend to leave blank), why a rejection is usually a signal rather than a verdict on you, and the smaller details that quietly move you up the list.

The point isn't that the process is a mystery you have to crack. It's that once you know what's being looked for, you can stop guessing and put your best version forward next time.

We talked to one of our identity verification experts about how KYC actually works on the platform — what it is, why it's required anywhere payment is involved, and what it's really protecting on both sides. The short version is that it's a two-way thing: it lets us confirm you're a real contributor, and it lets you confirm you're dealing with a legitimate, paying platform.

If you've thought about contributing to a OneForma data project but weren't sure what actually happens to your information, especially if it involves your child, here's a straight, no-jargon breakdown. 

 Before anything is collected: You get a clear, plain-language explanation of what's being collected, who sees it, why, and how long it's kept. It's provided upfront, in full -not buried in fine print. 

For minors: Verified parental or guardian consent is mandatory for anyone under 18. It's documented and retained on file. No minors participate without it. 

Where your data goes: Only to the client it was collected for, for a specific disclosed purpose. It is never sold, licensed, traded, or passed to any third party. 

How you're protected: Identities are safeguarded through anonymization/pseudonymization where applicable, plus contractual obligations that bind clients to the same standards. Clients are prohibited from re-identifying contributors, reselling data, using it beyond the disclosed purpose, or keeping it past the agreed period. 

Your control: Participation is always voluntary. You can withdraw before, during, or after a session, and we have processes to honor that and remove already-collected data where applicable.

We wanted to take a moment to explain something that comes up a lot - the Statement of Work, or SOW - and why it's actually one of the most important documents you'll receive as a contributor. 

What is an SOW? A Statement of Work is a document that outlines everything you need to know before starting a project: 

• 📌 What the work involves and how it should be completed 
• 📌 What's expected from you throughout the project 
• 📌 How you'll be paid — per hour or per task 
• 📌 Whether you'll have direct contact with clients

Why does it matter? Simply put, it protects you. Before you start a single task, you'll have full clarity on your responsibilities, your workload, and how your work will be compensated. No surprises. 

It also helps OneForma ensure tasks are distributed fairly and that expectations are aligned from both sides, making the whole experience smoother for everyone. 

Think of your SOW as your safety net. If anything ever feels unclear or misaligned, it's your first point of reference.
