Like an ocean
She had depth like an ocean
So deep you could dive in her soul for days
So deep she’d often drown inside herself
So deep you’d fear what lied in its darkness
Though it’s calling you, and the fear would grow less
When the seas would take her you’d know
For her eyes would wet, as tides come and go
And they’d take you too, don’t wander from the shore
Because soon there’d be nothing left to swallow
But the air went went warm and soon it would show
As the water moved from the sea to the stream, for and water’s meant to flow
That the ocean you cherished had become so shallow
You would see it’s dried soul lying in an empty bed
Maybe that is how it should be, an empty river bed, where no water would seep
For the air took it all, what a shame to behold
Not even a puddle left, scorched silt where water would flow
How cruel is the heat, you won’t hear the flowing water
Just the ruckus of the city, and all of it’s chatter
So here you stand, parched and with hope
That you could bring the rain, and the water to flow
In this empty stream, so that it could grow
To be soon the ocean that you used to know
(Ik it’s pretty bad and feels kinda repetitive at the ear but it felt nice writing)
