What is this piece of gear?

What is this piece of gear?

I bought a bunch of old climbing gear on marketplace and I am stumped on what this gear is? Some sort of anchor system?

There are two non climbing carabiners on it but I think that is just due to ignorance of previous owner because I received several of these carabiners attached to all kinds of gear

On a small tag it says ”Cassin” but no other tags

Questions about old soft goods

Hey, I recently got a great deal on a large package of climbing gear (like ice screws, cams, ice axes, nuts etc etc) as usual I didn’t factor in soft goods because in the listing pictures they just seemed out of date color wise.

Having received the gear essentially all of it is unused (we are talking not a single strand out of place not a single scratch on any carabiner cam or nut).

So how dangerous is the soft gear even? I’ve heard that nylon is self stable and only actually ages in contact with sun or chemicals.

The rope I probably won’t use but added it here along with the serial number incase anyone could shine a light on when it was produced.

Reslinging Camalots as a European

Hi,
I recently got a bargain on a set of old camalots from 05-09. What are my options for reslinging as someone in the EU? Has anyone used black diamonds reslinging service from the EU? What did you pay for shipping in that case?

Midnight sun in Lofoten

Best part of climbing north of the polar circle is that you can climb basically whenever you want and don’t have to worry about darkness at all!

My friends borrowed my brand new rope for an evening of trad climbing and they returned with almost half the rope fuzzy like this. What would you do in my situation?i

They instead of appseiling lowered eachother off with the rope running across quite sharp rock. This was only the third time this rope was ever used as I bought it new in the beginning of June.

Is this gear spread of older trad gear worth 700€?

Found someone selling a bunch of pretty old trad gear (anyone know the model on the cams) for 700€ dollars you guys think it’s worth it? Seeing as new cams go for almost 100€ each it seems like a deal to me, just basket hitch the cams with new slings and they are good to go right?
