1000/10 Recommend The Arcanaeum Series!!

OH MY GOD!!l Why did no one force me to read {The Arcanaeum by Marie Mistry} sooner?! I am absolutely FLYING after this series! I need to gush about it because it has become one of my top 5 RH of all time.

The basic premise: The FMC, Kyrith, was murdered centuries ago and has spent the last 500 years as the ghost Librarian of the Arcanaeum, which is a huge magical library. Six MMCs come into her life, and everything starts unraveling from there. The setting had this gorgeous dark academia + ethereal curated library vibe. I wanted to live in it.

The plot? SO GOOD! It stayed interesting across all three books & had a lot going on! There was a perfect balance of plot with six love interests, complicated magic, political/family drama, mysteries, reveals & easter eggs, found family, yet it never felt like Marie Mistry lost control of the story.

The magic systems? One of my favorite parts. There are different types of magic, and each character’s abilities felt tied to who they are. I could picture it! Some of the descriptions were so vivid that I had almost visceral reactions to the way some used their magic. It felt realistic & tactile rather than just ✨magic happens✨. It was so cool.

The characters? Ugh I’m so attached to them! I can get lost in the shuffle with six MMCs in other books, but these guys all felt genuinely different to me! Different personalities, relationships with Kyrith, ways of caring for her, baggage & character arcs. Watching this weird group become a family was so sweet. The devotion of these men??? PERFECTION. 😭😭 Also Kyrith herself!! I loved this smart, independent, somewhat grumpy FMC. The Arcanaeum itself also felt like a sassy little character.

The spice? I was honestly GOBSMACKED by how good it was. SO. FUCKING. HOT. 🥵 Each MMC brought a different dynamic (Dom/Sub/Switch with kinky KINKS). Scenes never felt repetitive or like we were just checking another person off the list. The emotional build-up was amazing. There was excellent slow burn for one character in particular. The last spice scene in book three was…. MA’AM 🤭🙈 😩🙏

I have no notes. The writing was master-level. This was my first Marie Mistry series and apparently I have been sleeping on her.

10000/10 would recommend! This is me forcing you to GO READ THIS SERIES!! Which Marie Mistry book should I read next?!

Please Give Me a Palate Cleanser After I Accidentally Wandered Into Age Play

Hi, friends! I am in dire need of a good palate cleanser book after finding myself in a world of age play.

I read {Plaything by Beanie Harper} and loved the Daddy-kink dynamic with the MMCs, especially the dominant, praise, control, and total-submission aspects, with the term "daddy." So, naturally, I went looking for more of that--only to DNF at <50% {Elora by Beanie Harper} and {Ruled by Her Daddies by Laylah Roberts} because I learned very quickly that I cannot do any sort of age play or age regression.

Absolutely not trying to yuck anyone’s yum, but my brain currently feels a little… corrupted, and not in the fun way.

With all that simmering in my mind, I am looking for something that will cleanse my palate and restore my emotional/sexual/romantic slate. I would prefer a standalone that is sweet, emotional, comforting, and maybe fantasy or PNR. I am not opposed to darker themes, but I need the central relationship to feel genuinely romantic and emotionally grounded. I could go for a good cry. Some (of the many) RH/Why Choose that I loved:

  • {Cursed Legacies by Morgan B. Lee}
  • {All the Pretty Monsters by Kristy Cunning}
  • {Featherstone Academy by K.C. Kean}
  • {The Bonds that Tie by J. Bree}
  • {Ruthless Boys of the Zodiac by Caroline Peckham}
  • {Losers by Harley Laroux}
  • {Hades by Tate James}

Honestly, if someone has a Daddy Dom book to recommend without an age gap, age-play, age regression, or has any suggestions for what I should search for to get what I am looking for, would love to hear that too!

Again, no judgment on folks' preferences here, just that age-play level of Daddy Dom is really not for me. I didn't fully understand what age-play was until I started these books, despite the content warning, so this is really my fault. Please send help and your best emotional & sexual reset recommendations! What's your go to?! Thank you thank you in advance!

Need book with rock band members as the MMCs

I went to a rock festival over the weekend & just couldnt shake the idea that I NEEEED to find a good RH book where rock band members are the MMCs. I saw a few bands where each member had their own kind of “trope” about with: the quirky & emotional lead guitarist, the happy golden retriever bass player, quiet & strong drummer, and hot & dangerous lead singer.

I don’t really care what genre, but I do prefer some mythical element, whether thats omegaverse, paranormal, monster, fantasy, etc. The only RH book I’ve read that has regular humans is Losers by Harley Laroux, and I did get into it because it was just well written, but I am open to recommendations on that.

Im reading The Mate Games: War series, currently on book 4 {Temptation by K.Loraine} and I have a feeling Im going to need a pallet cleanser after this.

Anyone know the book? Thanks in advance 😍
