Got my first infusion last week. I have been so sad all week. It’s like it ripped away all my defenses. Literally holding myself and crying nearly everyday. It’s exhausting. Idk what to do. How do I make this better?
I’ve had this dog for a month and she is great, if not perfect on the leash WHEN I HAVE TREATS. If I forget the treats, or if I run out mid walk, she practically forgets I’m even there.
I’ve tried corrections like a leash pop or a shoulder tap when she gets hyper focused on something (like another dog or, god forbid, a rat). Nothing. All I can do is drag her away. And then she’s pulling and being obnoxious the rest of the walk, even though she was a PLEASURE 10 minutes earlier when I was rewarding with treats.
She is estimated a little over a year old. Likely some mix of lab/poodle/hound. Do I just keep it up with the treats and give these desired behaviors time to “bake in?” I don’t want to create an adult dog who only listens to me if I have food.
