I’ve been having pain from subacute thyroiditis since the end of May. Is there really nothing anyone can do for it? You just have to wait it out/manage the pain? I just finished a 15 day course of prednisone and now the pain is back again, so bad!! I can’t stand it. How long does the pain phase last?? 😭😭😭😭 I need some encouragement and I just needed to vent.
I started to have pain in my neck- at first it felt like it was in my glands under my jaw on the right side but the pain felt worse and I realized when I pressed on the right side of my thyroid, it hurt. The pain radiates up my neck and jaw. The pain wakes me up from my sleep. My doctor did labs and everything is normal, ultrasound looked “normal”, except 3 nodules that they said to just check again in a year.
My doctor prescribed me 5 days of prednisone and it immediately took the pain away. 2 days after stopping, the pain immediately came back- and worse! I am also experiencing hot flashes! He prescribed me 5 more days of prednisone and he just messaged in my portal that all was normal! Does anyone have any thoughts or similar experiences? I feel like my doctor doesn’t know what to do with me.
