Only in LA can you drive 2 miles in 45 minutes, pay $25 to park, and still feel like you got off easy.
Went to a dinner in Silver Lake last night. Left Culver City at 6:45 for a 7:30 reservation. Got there at 7:32. Found parking 4 blocks away for $25 for 2 hours.
Considered this a complete success and spent the first 10 minutes of dinner telling everyone about it like I'd won something.
Nobody at the table thought this was unusual. We all just nodded.
I've lived here for 4 years and I've fully normalized things that would horrify anyone from anywhere else.
