Flint Vintage Flea Market

I’m considering being a vendor for the upcoming Flint Vintage Flea Market at Factory Two. I collect a lot of vintage stuff but have been trying to offload it lately and thought this might be a good opportunity over a single weekend.

While I love thrifting, estate sales, and garage sales, I’ve never actually been to a flea market. I did some research before posting this and the flea market culture and pricing seems to differ greatly so I thought to ask here.

Has anyone been to this event before (or ones locally) that can offer insight on pricing specifically? If I participate, I would probably bring items that are $20 and under. Possibly flat fee for vintage clothes (like $5), etc. I tried doing a sale at my house which I marketed very clearly that it was more valuable trendy vintage items and so pricing would range from $-$ and there were a lot of rude people who wanted everything for $1. (And mind you, if I have an item that sells consistently on eBay for $50, I’ll put a tag on mine for $15 and call it a day. I’m not trying to get top dollar but also can’t give away stuff).

Thanks for any insight!

Iron infusion stopped part way due to severe arm pain

Hi all, it’s almost 5pm as I’m writing this from my bed, following an (injectofer) iron infusion at 2. It was the first one I’d ever had and I’m scheduled for the second and final dose next Friday.

As the title states, they had to stop the infusion part way thru become of bad arm pain. It started a few minutes into the infusion and gradually got worse, but I initially thought it was standard and would go away. But then it was too distracting, too painful, so I googled it and read: not normal.

The port was located on the top of my left hand, and the base of my thumb had a dull pain but then the far side of that same arm, just above the elbow, felt like really bad muscle pain/cramping. They put a warm towel on it, that didn’t help, so they slowed the infusion which led to the pain coming in waves instead of constant. A dr. came to assess and they stopped the drip entirely and had me wait for the pain to stop. It reduced to a burning bruise feeling, and they started the last of the infusion up again; much slower this time. The pain moved a bit from the side of my arm, to the back of it.

After the infusion was complete, they told me to take Benadryl at home and didn’t seem worried about my next visit but said they may premedicate me.

I searched the group and saw that many had experienced pain post infusion but didn’t really see stories of it happening during. Curious if anyone has had this problem?

Also, this may or may not be related, but I was on Cipro for almost a week and started experiencing similar but severe pain in my other arm with every dose. Within the past year I also had to go on several different inhalers (daily) and they caused really bad upper back pain. Obviously they are different treatments but each caused awful muscle pain in my body.

I’ll update if anything else comes up!
