Anyone in public find it hard to take more than 1 week of vacation at a time?

Seems like everyone only does about 1 week at a time and nothing longer than that in my firm unless theyre combining maternity leave and stuff. Why is this?

Internship was in NYC but return offer in CT have no car or license or other job opps

I live in NYC and was typically commuting to nyc office for my internship. Now that I have the return offer theyre telling me they only have space in CT office. Its a 2.5 hour commute by train until I get my car and a drivers license which will take 6 or 7 months. Theyre requesting I be in CT 2x a week and nyc 1x a week since I have 1 engagement team in nyc and another in CT. They are not willing to be flexible at all and its in a tax niche. Should i continue and accept this offer? I dont have any other job offers and have over 500 apps submitted. Feeling depressed af.
