A little story:

This was a family trip that I planned for my parents. We'd been in Japan since April 24th (started in Kyoto) and Fuji was an intermission from Tokyo (arrived Tokyo May 3rd) for us. My parents spent the whole day shopping on May 4th, visibly tired, and came to me that evening...

"Can we cancel the plans for tomorrow?"

"No. Everything is paid for and any chance of a refund passed over a week ago..."

We took the 9am Fuji Excursion with reserved seats the next morning and we got so lucky with such clear views. My poor parents were run ragged during our trip and wanted to cancel seeing Mt. Fuji, but I'm so glad their effort ended up not being in vain.

We had a car rental and was able to see Mt. Fuji from the Yamanashi side and Shizuoka side, plus the sunset on Mt. Fuji.

Had the pleasure of visiting these shrines and temples and wanted to share the status of the blooms for anyone interested in seeing what state they're in.

There's been rain so unfortunately many petals have fallen, and some are past their peak by a few days, so if visiting for flowers is a main attraction, I hope this can help some folks visiting in the near future!

At Hasedera, the peonies will probably be beautiful this week and the hydrangeas will come up soon.
