Hi everyone,
I have a 4-month-old Ragdoll kitten and I’m trying to understand if his behavior is normal for the breed/age or if this is just his personality.
He generally does not like being picked up or held. If I pick him up when he is calm or sitting somewhere, he only tolerates it for a few seconds (about 4–6 seconds) and then tries to move away. When I put him on my lap, even if he was relaxed before, he usually immediately gets off and goes to sit somewhere else nearby.
He is not aggressive or scared—he just seems to prefer sitting on his own rather than being held or cuddled. He will stay in the same room with us and sits on the sofa or nearby, but doesn’t seek physical contact much.
