SOS - UB Trophy (7-1)
Had my weirdest SOS draft so far. Pack 1 I figured I would be normal Converge Soup, then Red dried up and Black was plentiful. Reluctantly about halfway through the pack I was consigned to Witherbloom (a deck I have only trophied once, out of about 5 attempts). I was planning to leave cards like Flow State and Deduce behind.
P2P3(!?) Emeritus is passed to me, so I had to pick it. Black continued to be wide open, and my green was not very good.
I've played a few Sultai drafts before, but never Blue Black Control.
I'm not sure that Splashing for Snarl Song was correct, but it felt right when I got a Trove and needed some life gain outside of the pests. I am a sucker for the Psuedo-Mind Twist though.
One of my favorite plays was I had a pest and the Apprentice staring down a Transcendent Archaic and a Colorstorm Stallion that had copied itself. They had tapped out to stop my End of the hunt. I played Trove, entered full control, and Cast Withering Curse. I used Trove to gain 2 life with Curse on the stack which turned on its Infusion ability. After wiping the field, Emeritus did its thing and grinded them out.
Following a 0-3 Gruul attempt, this was a breath of fresh air (and piggybacking off busted cards).
